RPG Games = PBM's ???
Has anyone experience about playing RPG's using just email?
A little bit like PBM-games.. So that everyone emails his actions and the DM (GM) then actually does (now that I think of it) a heck of a lot work and replies to everyone... Does it work at all? A lot of work for the DM? I used to play AD&D but now there's just not enough time to get everyone together, and it would be fun to try it again after almost 10 years... maybe via email? Is this BTW the place to post about old fashioned RPGs or is it just for computer games? |
most play be email groups are quickly starting to switch and play on boards.
im pretty sure yahoo has a directory for both pbm/play on forum board. |
I use 'play by message board'. My favorite site by far for this kind of thing is called Rondak's Portal (www.rondaksportal.com). It has tons of games available to apply for. Once you are in a game, you post messages on your game's own private message board instead of sending emails to everyone. Some DM's are better than others (I've had 2 just up and disappear one day, leaving the rest of us sitting there with a stalled game), but if you keep trying you'll find a good one.

Thanks!
I'm browsing through the portal now and it really looks great. Maybe I should play first a game on my own and then try DMing.. |
