The Gauss Gun and Pulse Rifle in Fallout 2. Why? 95% chance to hit any friggin part of the body you want. Fallout 2 also gets the "badass armor award" for the Advanced Power Armor MKII. Oh yeah, and my Banshee in Vice City.

The flare gun from Blood. Shoot some poor bastid, and he shrieks a little- aw, too bad. But THEN he burst into flames and run around screaming in agony "OH IT BURNS IT BURNS AAAUGH MY EYYYEEES!!!"
So satisfying.

I remember the XP-5 microwave cannon from Crusader: No Regret.
In terms of weapons, they seemed to be scaled by intensity of grisly death. Well, there was the UV-8 ultraviolet gun with the "SPF infinity overdrive" remove skin setting, but the XP-5 had the all-in-one excessive-ness to it.

The air-pump from Dig-dug.
The explosive shotgun shells and arrows from Turok2. Links' boomerang from various games. I liked the double Klobbs from Goldeneye and the silenced PP7.

Old signature just wasn't doing it for me anymore, so now I have this new one. It's equally as stupid but at least it looks really long. I'm probably just going to keep typing until I run out of things to babble about and see how many people actually read this. I once ran down a hill, fell down and hurt my elbow; my mom said I would be ok, she kissed it and made it all better. I've run out of things to say now, so if you have read this whole thing, congratulations you get a gold star! |

I would also vote for the BFG 9000, but with a correction...
The Acronym BFG actually stands for Big "Fun" Gun.

The coolest weapon in a game was the Gem in Castlevania SotN.
It finaly came into it's own in this installment. When the game first came out, everyone on my dorm floor would congregate in my room to take turns playing it, watching people play, and trash talking. No one could figure out why I kept insisting on keeping the Gem, until about a week in when my skills were finaly mastered. Soon, everyone was trying to catch up Simple, powerful, elegant: Gem

Half-Life's crowbar and rocket launcher are also favourites. Slightly off topic, but my favourite multiplayer map of all time is 'Thunderdome' from Marathon 2, thanks for bringing back the memories hulk |

1. Lightsaber from any Star Wars game
2. Strider Hiryu's cipher 'Falchion' 3. Raizan and Bishamon from the Onimusha series 4. I always thought the name 'Ragnarok' was cool for a weapon
