Best Flying Sim

What's the best Fighter Pilot Simulation on the market ?

Falcon F-16 and F-18 interceptor were great once.....

I like the new Secret Weapons Over Normandy, but it's more action than sim. Falcon 3.0 ruled. 4.0 was kinda lame. WWII Fighters is still fun. IL2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Realms is fun but a bit tough at default, very unforgiving.

It really depends on what kind of era you want to fly in. I think Microsofts flight sim gives a good feel but if you want ww2 fighers there are better ones than that.

Depends on which era theater your looking for.

IMO

Modern, I'd say Falcon 4.0, or Lomac. I'd vote on falcon 4.0 though, be warned it has a very step learning curve. But I learned the modern combat just isn't for me, it's just not up close and personal as ww1, ww2, korean theaters.

For WW2 currently Il-2, and Il-2 Forgotten Battles.

I really dont have much experience with flight sims; but I love playing Crimson Skies. How does that measure up to some mentioned here? If it sucks; it appears I have some experimenting to do.

this response will certainly stick out like a sore-thumb among the others... but my favorite flight sim of all time is pilotwings 64.

i know it isn't a sim in the strictest sense, but man that game was a whole lot of fun.

I just picked up Crimson Skies at Future Shop. I couldn't resist it, it was only 14.99. Ok so it's 4 years old, but I remember playing the demo when it was first out. I like it so far.

Just a fun game . Aerial gunnery was done well for being an arcade game. It definetly gave me some insight to shooting in
Il-2.

I remember playing that one, but it's SO limited as to what you can do with the aircraft, buggy, gyrocopter whatever you want to call it...
