What's gonna be hot in 2004?
Alright guys, I know this sounds like a pretty generic thread, or maybe a blanket thread that's just gonna be either shut down or ignored and dropped to the deeper parts of the gaming section, but I really want to know what you guys think will be the hot shit for gaming this year.
Any platform will do, I just want some opinions for what everybody is getting hyped for.

I must say I'm pretty excited about Söldner, Operation Flashpoint was one of my all time favorites, as well as BF1942, it looks like it could make a great combination.
Speaking of BF1942, I'm also anxious to play Battlefield Vietnam. Once again, I really enjoy the original BF1942, and to have them refine the gameplay, add choppers of their own, and other new content, I'm all for it. Longer down the list is of course Doom 3 and Half-Life 2. But I'm not holding my breath |

While I do agree Ninja Gaiden will be awesome, it's not exactly the return of platforming goodness. Two of the best platformers "of all time" (stated by many publications) were released last year. I do however think Ninja Gaiden is gonna rock

World of warcraft will react havoc amongst the masses.
its looking to be a true genre breaking title and achieve what the sims online and swg wear meant to do, bringing in the casual player to monthly paid subscription based gaming model of mmorpgs. |

Isn't the PSP supposed to be released this year?
And what about that Nintendo portable with two screens?

Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away in disgust. The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!" |

All of the games above plus:
Starcraft: Ghost (GCN, PS2, XBOX) Mechassault 2 (XBOX) Should rival Halo 2 as the premiere Xbox 3rd generation Live game. I can finally see the light for PC games again, after a couple of really terrible years on PC we are finally going to have a good reason to upgrade our systems other than to play the lastest FPS. |

I still don't think Doom3 will get released any time near the Half Life 2 release. They know there will be too much competition, so I think they'll push it back so that they're the only game (so to speak) in town. (which means we may never see the game....crap!)

The only games that matter are the sequels to the ones that have mattered in the past.
EX: Half-Life 2 Halo2 UT 2004 Ninja Gaiden Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow GT 4 This is the only exception for me this year - FABLE. Believe it. Anyone with an XBOX must pick this game up. All of you who are still holding off and relying on your PS2 trust me. This is going to be a huge game. |
