Zelda order
what is the order of the games ive been trying to work it out but i cant seem to get it all figured out
|
I'm not an expert but here's a rough list (in chronological order):
NES - The Legend of Zelda NES - The Adventures of Link SNES - A Link to the Past Gameboy - Link's Awakening Nintendo 64 - Ocarina of Time Nintendo 64 - Majora's Mask Gameboy Color - Oracle of Ages Gameboy Color - Oracle of Seasons Gamecube - The Wind Waker |
dont be fooled the order of there release, thats not the order in which they take place
|
I'd be interested to hear the time-frame arguements of what order the Zelda games come in, heh. That should make some heated discussion.

First off, learn some better english. Second off, next time specify that you want the "time frame order" instead of the order in which they came out. |

Best I can figure is that the MM quest goes on while you are in the Temple of Light for seven years then emerge a full grown Hyrulian. Point for this, you already have you Occarina, Master Sword, and Hyrulian Shield. |

Majora's Mask takes place, I believe, after, the events in Ocarina of Time have taken place. Link leaves Hyrule to persue what is called "an old friend", he's riding Epona, who, at the time is still a young horse. I believe this to be after OOT, because you have the Hylian Shield, but not the Master Sword. You lose the Master Sword after vanquishing Ganondorf. But, if you don't believe me, just check out IGN's take on the story

Game & Watch: Zelda*
Wristwatch Zelda** The Legend of Zelda The Legend of Zelda: The Adventure of Link The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past The Legend of Zelda: BS-Zelda*** The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - The Four Swords The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening The Legend of Zelda: Wand of Gamelon**** The Legend of Zelda: Faces of Evil**** The Legend of Zelda: Zelda's Adventure**** The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask The Legend of Zelda: Ura Zelda***** The Legend of Zelda: Master Quest****** The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker *Portable handheld Zelda game **Wristwatch that featured a Zelda game ***BS-Zelda, or a 16-bit remake of The Legend of Zelda only released via Satellaview, Nintendo's Satellite gaming network for the SNES. ****The piece of shit Zelda games released for the Philips CD-i console. *****Ura Zelda, originally a brand new Zelda game for the N64DD was finished in development, but canned because of shit N64DD sales. ******Nintendo released this as a bonus disc you recieved for pre-ordering The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for the GameCube, the disc featured The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and The Legend of Zelda: Master Quest. Master Quest was a remix of Majora's Mask which featured new dungeons, updated dungeons, etc. |
omega2K4 was kind enought to give us a full list but in what order do they take place(in chronological order in hyrule time). my thought is shouldnt OOT be first. I mean thats when Ganon is created
|
Now where does the Zelda cartoon fit into all this :)
|
Pardon me, Omega, but wasn't Ura Zelda, Ocarina of Time: Master Quest? I remember that it was actually released on the 64DD and it just had harder dungeons, but had the same storyline. Nintendo brought it out of Japan in the bundle if you preordered Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker as Ocarina of Time: Master Quest.

I believe that Ocarina of Time was intended to be the first Zelda story, with the followup Majora's Mask featuring the same Link. Then next in the chronology were A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening respectively. I base that primarily on the fact that the story of Ganondorf was already known by characters in the game. The NES Zeldas would have to take place further in the future, because the villages in Adventure of Link had the same names as the sages in OOT (A neat bit of retroactive continuity :D ). And of course, Wind Waker has to take place last. The Oracle games could technically fit in anywhere after Majora's Mask (Link looks a little more teenaged). So, as I see it:
Ocarina of Time Majora's Mask (Oracle Games?) A Link to the Past Link's Awakening The Legend of Zelda The Adventure of Link Wind Waker |

Wait a sec didn't the big N release an offical statement saying that there was more than one Link and that not all of the games are connected?

Yeah, I think Ganon's supposed to resurrect himself every hundred years, sort of like Dracula in Castlevania. Also like Dracula, he tends to come back early sometimes.:)
|
the Zelda cartoon came on during the Super Mario brothers TV show. it was better than the mario tv show that aired it :)
