Wow, I didn't even know they released baldurs gate for console systems. How does it compare length wise to the PC baldur's gate series?

Good Times~

It's not the same at all. It's gameplay is more in line with Diablo than an RPG. Lot's of hack-n-slash and not too much thinking required.

All the reviews were kind of bland but I think I'll have to pick this one up. Sounds like everyone likes it. I think I played through the first one like 8 time cuz it was so much fun. Mindless fun but fun... Best part was watching the Barmaids tits jiggle when she talked. Very nice touch...

The game is much shorter, but like Dibbler said this version of the series isn't in the RPG genre but rather it's in the Dugeon Crawler/ action genre. Think Midway's Gauntlet games but smarter and with a D&D twist and you sorta have the idea of what BG: Dark Alliance is like.

Multiplayer? If so could be worth picking up on a weekend when you're hanging out getting blazed.

Deh, are they going to release any more D&D style games for the PC? Or did they kill them for the console.

Bioware(They made the orignal BG games.) currently has one publicly announced RPG in the works, it's called Jade Empire and it's for the Xbox. They have one other unannounced PC RPG project on their website.

http://www.bioware.com/bioware_info/...MSPartnership/

BlackIsle Studios is now down to 2 employees and is mostly not making games currently.

Well, just picked it up today. So far, so good. I didn't get very far (impending test on excel tommorrow) but it seems really cool. I especially like the idea of weapon customization.....bleeding swords..<drool>

This game is OK, but it gets old really quick.

If you haven't bought it yet, wait till Feb. 12 and get "Champions of Norrath". It is extremely similar, with better graphics, more weapons, and random dungeons.

It's looking like it will be the much better game. Check it out.

booooooooo!

i figured they would take some of what was right in the original and improve. i was wrong.

the game is great if you wish to run around hitting one or two buttons.

i almost finished it with the monk but it isn't worth my time. puting it back in mail tomorrow.

i know it's an arcade hack and slash but come on. it has no class, no style. no nothin

Just started two days ago, and we're going through the game as the rogue and monk pair. Lvl 21 and counting, and having relatively little difficulty on the normal setting.

When you maximize the basic skills of the monk and equip her with some enchanted gauntlets, she will kill anything in the game very quickly.

I rented the first one on PS2. It was really fun, but I beat it before I had to return the game (of course that didn't keep me from getting late fees still). What I hated was the fact that it was so damn easy. Should I even bother to buy this one or should I just rent it?

the game is really fun with a friend, though you could beat it over a weekend so i recomend renting it first. But then again, there is extreme mode once you beat it once.

I own both of these games that I bought myself for X-mas along with my Playstation 2 and haven't played either one yet. I'm so lame. The reason being is that i'm so used to playing PC games and watching TV that when I try to play a console game and there's no TV on....I feel weird. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! So both of these games are sitting on my shelf still shrink wrapped.

I just bought a second hand x/box with this game. I played the monk and pretty much terrorized through the game. No one really gave me any trouble. That is until the last fight. None of my usual tactices are working and he just keeps regenerating so fast I cant take him out fast enough. For the people who have finished it how do you win the last fight?

I thought this one was much better than the first one, which I found to be too punitive towards the spell casters.

And the addition of the cleric class, total bonus.

Yeah, the 2nd was superior. But then, I played as the fighter in the 1st and the necro in the 2nd, which I think are probably the 2 best classes in their respective games. I too was a Haste Whore to FngKestrel's Cure Wounds Whore-edness.

We're currently playing through Heroes, a game in the same vein but you can have up to 4 players. I'm the rogue and he's the cleric. Yes, he just loves being my self-propelled medkit.

And no GC version, the bastards! Me and a mate spent like fifty bucks renting the first one, it was great co-op fun. Especially importing über-characters from the end and playing through as Drizzt.
