Just wondering, there gotta be some other Everquest freaks out there ~ lets hear it :P

I played up until about two months ago. I sold my characters on playerauctions.com, and i am awaiting World of Warcraft and Planetside.

I had a level 65 necromancer, 63 Monk, and a 55 Enchanter as well as some other low to mid level twinks. I used to play on Vallon Zek server and When i quit my guild was working on Rallos Zek encounter, from what I hear they nerfred his Ae Rampage and he is a pushover now though :) PM me to talk EQ haha

I played for a month or two, and am in the process of quitting... not sure if ill make it though, Lol...

I played a 34 druid and 20 warrior... but since my buddy took his account back im going to try and keep myself from buying my own, or buying his extra from him!

I played for a few months.

I was an Iksar Monk that got to about level 33, at which point I went to the ice contintent... Hit a wall in terms of EXP and eventually lost interest.. I think Thurgadim was the city I stopped playing in.

One of the most fun things I did on the continent was jump off this big ass bridge with a friend and take screenshots of each other.. Good times.

I played a 65 monk and a 65 druid on the tribunal. Recently sold my account, though. Playing Shadowbane, but I am planning on switchting to WoW as soon as it comes out, hopefully I can get into beta when that starts =).

I'm planning on the same. I'm not sure if I like SB quite yet. It's uhh, interesting I guess, not really what I expected. I had a 60 cleric when I sold in June, before PoP came out.

I played for the better part of 2 years. I finaly had to give it up reluctantly. I will say though, that I had allot of fun, and made allot of friends thats have serpassed beyond my EQ days. Supriseingly enough, I only had two main characters on one server, Morell Thule. I didn't server bounce, and I made quite a positive name for those characters. One of my character, Quigle Brewhammer (later Mountaincarver), a 52 Dwarf Warrior, had such a reputation, and story, that I actualy kept a journal for others to read on the net, and got quite a following.

Yes.. I had fun, and will remember my days in Butcherblock Mountains.

Don't know about EQ2 yet.. We'll see..

I played for a long time became addicted and quit. My friends were at my house one day found the EQ cds lying around and installed them on my comp to see if their account was still active. Next thing I know the next evening I'm back at it again. Five months later I was able to quit again. That was last July.

This weekend on Saturday we are having a LAN when all of them who had quit has well start loading up EQ come to find out they started playing about 2 weeks ago again. Bastards then talked me into starting up again because they needed a cleric. So I'm back at square one sitting in Butcherblock. :/

Ive got a few characters on Innoruuk. 65 Ranger / 54 Shaman / 54 Druid / 50 Cleric. Ive been playing since Sept of 99, and really show no sign of leaving just yet. Its one large social network that allows you to escape real world. Not really a good thing.....but it passes time )

60 Cleric, 54 Shadowknight, 47 Necromancer, etc. I don't play a lot since I don't really have the time I used to, and really... I don't know if I even like the game as it is now. I miss the first like, 6 to 9 months of EQ. Those were a blast. If they brought up a "Classic EQ ONLY" server, with the classes balanced similar to near debut but a little more on the "balanced" side, I'd probably play it a ton. But that won't happen

Yup, EQ junky as well, run a guild on drinal with my (real, not EQ) fiancee, hehe.

I have to say the one thing that makes it so addictive is making actual friends in the game. can't beat that, people I met in EQ are coming to my wedding. Those people that quit their jobs and leave their wives to play EQ all day scare me however.

60 Chanter, 53 monk, 53 Druid, 47 Ranger - I played for a year and a half and went back to my first true love first-person shooters. Mainly BF 1942 and the HL mods.

Its a fun game but after raiding in most of the high level zones the ole XP grind got real old and I needed to fill my action need.

I play, too much *laughs*, Celalta is only 57, as I shared an account with my husband for the whole year we've played (hush), and he's a computer hog. 65 warrior with bunches of aa's and I'm a 57 ranger with nil... *laughs* Separate accounts now, soon separate computers... and then I'll go to EQ2 when it comes out I think.


They are actually making a notransfer server. Everyone starts out at lvl 1, no twinking, no PLing. Just original way to play EQ... except it won't last long what with the xp hotspots that Luclin has.

EQ does get kinda boring i say, i have a 47 rogue... I have tried shadowbane that just takes time to get used to... very wierd with the control compared to EQ. I think I am going to quit EQ though havent played in awhile, i just cant stand spending so much time to level anymore.

I bought it a few months ago, and played on the Drinal server for a few weeks. For whatever reason, I stopped playing (probably around the time I got GTA3). I had a level 5 ranger (Lagarto) and a level 7 necromancer (Frenik). The ranger had become my main. I just started playing again today, and started a Froglok wizard that I really like. It'll probably become my main.

I have a 57 paly and a bunch of upper 20th level characters including an enchanter, a cleric and a rogue all on the Lanys server.

I had a great time and I still have my account, but I don't play anymore. I suppose I should just bite the bullet and cancel it, but I'm so damn sentimental.

I'll never sell it though. No one else is going to play my darling Bellrona.

hah, to be fair, EQ did kinda sorta fuck up my relationship. well, i let eq fuck up my life :P i had a great girlfriend and would chooser Eq over her. i learned my lesson in all that at least. no more of that shit. i'll still play mmorpgs, but definatly not to the max when there's a girl. jeez, i was stupid. hehe

EQ is in such a degenerative state of pathetic washed up haxors that I'm surprised anyone still plays it. It's not EverQuest anymore, it's EverOnlineHangout. I quit about a year ago; I had a 51 Ranger on Morell-Thule. The game is addicting, but not really that fun at all. Yes, very addicting. The time came when I had to choose my girlfriend or EverQuest, and I obviously chose my girlfriend. EQ has never been all it was hyped up to be (a fantasy online RPG) but always an online hangout with people that talk like AOL'ers.

I'm waiting for WoW right now, even though I'm sure it'll be another online hangout instead of RPG as well. Oh well, maybe it'll actually be fun instead of just addicting like EQ.

Anyone that posts here play EQ? I have a 65 druid and a 65 bard on the tribunal server...

I played for about 3 years and just recently gave it up. I love that game and all my chars but I was just getting bored of it. I am looking forward to EQ2 though. Never played on Tribunal but I have chars scattered on Tunare, Veeshan, and Mithaniel Marr.

I played a 60 monk and 55 enchanter on Fennin Ro until Luclin was released, at which point my system was no longer up to snuff to support major raids. EQ2 seemed promising, until I saw what Verant had conjured up with SWG, that is.

I play now and then...got a 56 Paladin on E'ci server...it starting to suck

I played for a few years then quit when I figured out it ruined my life, I slacked off so much in highschool it makes me sick.

My brother recently started up again and it really bugs me, part of me wants to start up again with him and part of me knows how sad the game is.

i dont play EQPC but i do play EQOA on the Ps2 i have a 50 war, 26 nec, 26 sha, and various other low lvls on each of the servers just to pass the time when i am bored and no one knows who i am

I did up untill about 4 or 5 months ago...

I played for over 3 1/2 years.... I never played alot, maybe 2-3 hours a few nights a week, but then my playing time fell to none when my son was born. I fell to far behind and after not playing a few days, I found I really didnt want to play anymore. I ended up giving all my stuff to a guy I had played with pretty much the whole time and cancel'd my account havent played since... I was kinda looking forward to Horizons but I don't know, I just don't like the time you have to give in order to play and MMORPG. I have been playing RPG that i play for an hour, save my game and come back tommorrow.

I played a lvl 56 monk on vallon zek... I never really lvled him up much cause I always just wandered around the world explorering.

I started a character on Quellious a coupla months after Quell went live. I played for a coupla years, quit, came back about 6 months later, played a few months, quit again. I don't foresee going back. I miss some of the friends I had there, and still keep up with a few via e-mail and message boards, but I just didn't find the game that fun the last few times I played and realized that I was paying my $13/month for a chatroom with graphics.

i played for about 3 years on tribunal. i played from release of kunark to release of luclin. then i got tired of it, and my comp sucked too much for luclin to run so i just quit.

IMO its not a fun game itself, its the people you play with that make it fun. you have to make it fun yourself, eventually you hit a point where you just dont care and then the game sucks. thats when its a good time to quit. hehe

anyways, i had a rogue, war, monk, and soem low lvl casters on tribunal back in the day.

Play the game for about 2 years. All characters on Vallon or Sullon. I never really leveled past 50...Just had a blast with pvp.

Man I'm hooked on EQ its killing my life

How long have you been playing? I was hooked for about a month, but then I came down hard and have HATED the game ever since... I still have nightmares about camping spawns... ughhhhhhghhhh

I played for 3 years. Talk about hooked I spent several 20 hour sessions on EQ. I finally cancelled my account about 2 months ago because I was getting bored. On certain nights however when I think back on the fun times i had I have the urge to install EQ again since my chars are still there waiting for me.

Yes. I can say I was addicted to Everquest at one time. A co-worker got me addicted. I was playing Diablo 2 at the time and he told me about Everquest. Well I started up a troll on Prexus. And I got hooked. I wanted to get him to level 60. I got him up to level 46. No power leveling. Just grouping each night with other people I didnt know. It was fun for awhile. But warriors depend on their items. And its hard as hell killing something over and over night after night just to save up for weapons. That and I realized my social life had gone to hell. So I finally dumped Everquest.

i played eq for 3 years or so still played till about 2 weeks ago when my comp stoped working and i cant play. Been happier since i quit. Played on Vallon zek PVP server....pvp is a blast. i couldnt be on a blue server cuz killing mobs over and over and over is justboring 2 me.

I started playing a few months after the game came out, played a Troll Shaman to 53 quit let my friend take him over, he's now 65, I started back up been playing on and off for about 4 months, have a Beast lord to 49 on Fennin Ro characters name is Shiminyfu Dibinishi would be cool to see some people from tfp there, but it looks like most people are not on fennin.

I quit over a year ago, but I had a 51 Ranger on Morell-Thule. I put so much fucking time into that one character. I had like 1600 hours on him only at level 51. I just loved hanging around in-game. The first six months I didn't even get to level 20, then the second six months I played I got to 51. Addicting as shit, but it gets really old when you realize that no matter how much you play, it's simply not rewarding. There's always someone better than you, mainly because they play EQ more than they sleep or work. I met my girlfriend a year ago and quit EQ a day later. I just messaged the first person I could think of and gave like 40,000 platinum to him and 60,000 platinum worth of armor. Then said bye to my guild, deleted my ranger (Razerwind Ravenshadow), and gave away my account. One of the most spontaneous and hardest things I've ever did. That game will control your life.

I'll definitely play another MMORPG, but I'm not sure which one. Probably Star Wars Galaxies (if it's improved upon) or World of Warcraft.

This guy nailed it on the head. EQ isn't fun. You have to make it fun yourself. The only fun MMORPG I've ever played is The Realm, which I quit a few years ago because my account got disabled.

I never really got into Everquest.... seeing my friend's grades go down after his evercrack craziness just made me steer clear... :)

I used to play EQOA. I went nuts with it... was playing up to 18 hours straight some days.

My girlfriend at the time hated me for it which is why I think I enjoyed it so much. Anyway, can't wait for EQ2!

I played off and on for about two years, but I had to share time with my brother so I only got to about lv 37. Just canceled my account, started playing neverwinter nights.

I have a 65 warrior on 2 different servers :p along with a 57 cleric, 51 druid, and various other chars. I've been up and down on it but I"m having fun right now. It's all about the people you play with.

I played for just over a year on the Tribunal. Quit at the start of this summer. I had a 57 ranger, 30ish cleric, and a 30 monk. This game ate my soul. I'm glad I quit.

I used to play, but I sure as hell can't remember the server I played on. I only got to about level 35 with one of my characters, a halfing ranger named Arrowstorm. Yep.

Are we talking about the same game? :) I got to level 300 in the Realm in about 4 months. That's 1/3 of the way there. It took me a solid year of playing 40 hours per week to get to level 50 in Everquest, and that was with constant leveling. In The Realm, I treasure hunted half the time and still got to level 300 rather quickly. A friend of mine got to level 1000 in about 3 months. It's just knowing which dungeons to go to. Of course, The Realm has the same boring leveling up as most MMORPGs do, but the treasure hunting system in that game is unrivaled.

86 Days to get lvl 50 Las? I'm 65, and I have 38 days played total. Well over half is time I wasn't leveling. I'm not sure what you were fighting, large rats perhaps, that took you that long to get to 50..

Ha ha, I played a second character (got him to level 25) as well, but I mainly played my ranger. I had 1600 hours on him (around 50 days). Of course, I spent a lot of that leveling up by quests and trying to make the most money possible. I had those Centi Longswords at level 20 (two of them, 4k each when I bought them), a Lamentation/Wyrmslayer combo at level 25, and a Lupine Dagger/Lamentation Combo by level 30. I also had that neat looking Crystal armor for rangers at level 35. I may have been leveling up a lot, but most of my time was spent leveling up in places to get money, and not "good experience."

bit of a power gamer but was playing since pre-kunark, i was on venril sathir, accounts cancelled but i might go back someday heh

ditto for me, cept i had a daughter... miss it, the instanced dungeons were a blast, being able to level from 52 to 53 in three asdventures, i.e. three hours, was pretty cool.

I dunno what game you're playing. But no where can you get from 52 to 53 doing LDoN Adventures in 3 hours.

As an update to my char...now a 65 time flagged shadow knight.


Taking a week off atm though,just moved..so getting used to the new house.

shall i tell you my secret .. play the game with your partner (girlfriend in my case) and it is priceless , great hobby to spent time together :)

I played various accounts on Vallon Zek before it went to shit. Tried the whole "purist pvp" thing as a shortie, after investing so much time only for it to all go to waste, I quit.

I used to, for about 2 years. I was on Cazic Thule. Highest I got was 51 with an ogre warrior. I pretty much gave up after that and started a new character. I wasn't much into high levels. I enjoyed the lower/mid level zones like Highkeep :D

I also had a 37 Human Cleric, 45 Iksar Monk, 25 gnome warrior, 30 dwarf rogue, and a couple of other little guys. My favorite was definitly the monk.

I enjoyed it at the time, but I could never have any fun anymore. By the time I quit it had already started getting loot-oriented... My friend still plays, and from what I hear, everything revolves completely around loot and getting the best of the best stuff.

I was never into getting the best stuff...I was into getting what looked cool on my character. Remember that Froglock (spelling?) shield? That was my favorite piece of equipment ever..but also one of the crappiest pieces in the game.

I still have my hundreds (nearly thousands) of screenshots, and enjoy looking at them. Heres a couple of my guys, just for the hell of it.

I was a 65 ranger on Tholuxe Uanwean, quit a year and a few months ago while working on the rathe

I have been playing for 3+ years...Have a 65 cleric and rogue...62 necro along with other characters....playing on the SAryrn Server.

I was on Ayonae Ro as an enchanter (ended up 65, 150 AA) from late 2000-last month. The changes in the game (from a grouping game to a hulking raid game) and overall mudflation took the fun out of for me, and I retired recently and have been larking about in City of Heroes...

Was fun but lost time to play. had time keys fully flagged didn't sell just let it run out.

the funnest was back in the day when everyone was just starting out and no one knew anything. that was awesome. I missed that. Now everyone has a buddy whoes a dev in respective uber guild on any server.
I lost the want to play through the higher teir stuff as I just couldn't find that will to log in so that I could be part of another uber encounter to beat another uber guild. not for the enjoyment of the experience.

Played on povar from about 2 days after launch until about 8 months ago. I was the mighty Rumblepants Loudbottom 65 shaman. Havik, I loved those days also..my first character was a wood elf ranger. Those days in crushbone were so funny, Divinn and Emp Crush clearing out the zone for 20 or so minutes was great.

at 65 i went to all the places i could never go. most of you don't sound like you played when there was a Dragon in Lake Rathe I remember being there at lvl 12 and no one had plate armour I was in full leather and was pimp with mino axe and a shiny brass sheild.(couldn't dual weild until 20)
doing the unthinkable I was going to cross from Qeynos to Freeport to meet up with Zaar a lvl 10 necro Newton a lvl 12 ranger. and took a wrong turn. These were the first people to think of making a guild called Triton. Acutally we were going to call ourselves Teal Accordians to mock the then uber guild Steel Accordance.

havent played in about 2 yrs, but i was on VZ since 1999.

EQ ruined my social life, and my 7 yr relationship with my fiance'. Ill never let myself get caught up in this lame ass computer again.

I quit about when I got to 200 played days.... I had a 65 Enchanter on the Tunare server with 200+ AA... Got a pretty penny when I sold that account last year :)

Then I just stopped playing one day when I realized the dim sum of EQ: Rathe was unkillable :( (then again he was nerfed a week later and I was to lazy to log in and like 10 guilds killed him in a week)

Oh well, happier now then I was when I played eq so who cares!

I just started playing this again, I have been off and on for the last couple years so my highest character is only lv 37. Its changed a lot since I last played and I want to try out the Lost Dungeons of Norath. I'm sure it will be fun for at least another month, by then I might be burnt out.

I beta tested it for the PS2, probably the most boring game I've ever fucking played in my entire life.

I played EQ up until a few months after Luclin came out. I played for about 1.5-2 years on the Cazic Thule server and only got to lvl 30-something with my dwarf cleric. I was a super-casual player back then, with less than 20 hours to play during the average week and many play sessions too short to even get into a group (1 hour or so). Ehh...I loved the game but just didnt have time for it. I played daoc after, when I had more time on my hands and quit that after only 6 months-1 year. I don't really want to go back to EQ now (too many changes that I don't really like the sound of) but I'm looking forward to the release of a new MMO I can waste my life on.

Different game,most of us are talking about the PC version.

I played for over 3 years on Vallon Zek. but after my son was born lost the time to commit to the game and haven't really missed it that much...

I'd like to get back into a MMORPG but no time... so i have moved on back to regular old RPG and FPS heh i can play for a half hour before I hit the sack and save my game, come back a few days later and nobody is 10 levels ahead of me...

on a side note. just got KOTOR and that is an awesome game...

Have been playing EQ on and off since it came out, the boyfriend and I tend to go in four months on/six months off spurts.

We're in an 'off' phase right now, waiting for EQ2 or WoW or whatever to come out.

Did the uberguild thing on Firiona Vie, that was a blast but very time-intensive. Mostly we run unguilded.
