Day of Defeat
 

just started playing Day of Defeat never heard of it until tonight anyone know anything about it. the game seems ok. i just finished Call of Duty which was much better.

DoD has been around for quite a few moons now, but is still very popular.
It's a Half Life Mod, and gets the occasional face lift when a new patch comes out.

DoD is a totally different animal than Call of Duty. Call of Duty, MOHAA and the like are all arcade type shooters. DoD aims to be more realistic.

I got sick of CoD the other week and finally uninstalled it... went back to DoD. Yeah it might not look as pretty, but who cares when the gameplay is by far superior!

I think the old versions (pre-3.0) of Day of Defeat were a lot better. But yeah, it's still one of the best multiplayer mods out there.

I played it back in the day when each team had four weapons, they were all dead accurate and the thompson had tracer rounds too! I watched it grow up since it was an infant. I don't play it much any more, but my friend who didn't care for WWII type games plays it frequently now.

If only Call of duty had that many weapons........

COD duty definitley needs more weapons and missions i would have liked to do some missions involving canadian units. DOD is pretty enjoyable i like it a lot.

Canadian missions would be great! I want to carry the Canadian flag up a bullet laced hill just like the Russians did in Stalingrad!

Maybe their can be an expansion pack with the lesser known allies like the greeks

DOD is fun, good solid multiplayer game.....but STEAM is not, as I keep having to reinstall it to make it work..so as of right now screw steam

wait till they make dod for hl2...which they are planning on doing.....it will be sweet.

Dod was a great mod, but I have to agree with JR, pre 3.0 was much better IMO. Loved the hill with my springfield :D.

I havent played it in like 2yrs, but the hill map was my favorite. Is it not in the newer versions?
