I'd give Super Metroid a try. Many people consider it the best game ever. I never finished it, but that game was fun as hell.

You start it off well:
Secret of Mana Secret of Evermore Secret of Mana 2 Chrono Trigger Wayne Gretzky Hockey (I think that's what it's called) Zelda 3 Super Metroid FF3/FF6 (Same thing, American/Japanese) Mario Kart Super Mario Mario RPG Uniracer Street Fighter 2 Yoshi's Island Ogre Battle FFV (Only in Japan therefore only on Emulator) Gundam Endless Duel (Japan) DBZ Hyper Dimension (Japan) That about covers it I think for the classics and the good Japanese games. Chrono Trigger was one of the best games I ever played. Same with FF6. Non RPG games, I'd say this DragonBall Z Fighting Game. I don't know what it's called since it's in Japanese but it's pretty fun. I think it might be called DragonBall Z hyperDimensions. Not sure though.

YaWhateva, you mean Turtles in Time? I loved that game!
Most of the classics have already been mentioned, but just in case I missed this: Earthbound is great! Edit: So someone Did mention it. It's great because it's unique, and keeps you entertained throughout the entire game. Hell, I think I'm gonna go buy a snes and all my favourite games now.
