Shooting the console is a little hardcore, but at least he didn't shoot the gamers. That would have been real hardcore...

lets see someone do that on a gamecube..exactly. with any other console..it wouldve been lights out.

I don't know dude. I've heard stories of people running over their Nintendo systems (not necessarily Gamecubes), dropping them out of windows, etc... Hell, I've even had my NES for over 12 years, and it's still in working condition.

Maybe that's the problem with the 'Cube. If it can't stand a nuclear fallout, I don't want to have anything to do with it. ;)

Funny nobody mention PS2. Granted, the lens is a little bitchy but I'd be amazed if it survived a screaming match from my mother...

That'd be a bad thing...I wouldn't want to be on a police force that's using Mircosoft's armour and I'm in the middle of a mission and all of sudden, I get one of those blue screen...

If they didn't want go into the actual body armor market, they could still make armor for kids that enjoy shotting each other with BB guns. This way they could still keep their catch phrase: "It's good to play together."

Bottom Line: Graphics are better on Xbox, Live beats any other online service out there. Xbox rules the console FPS wars...

PS2 is good for those that like huge libraries of older games, and Cube is good for kids. How you like them apples! ;)

First this was a simple sotry, but second.. Xbox rules the console wars? Thats simply an opinions.. I just thought I'd point that out. Cube is for kids? Also for adults my good friend. I thought I'd point that out too.

Cube is great, PS2 has the best RPGs(although that might change with the soon to be released Fable), XBox has good FPS. But who cares, FPS on consoles blow anyways.

Geez, people, grow up... The PS2, GameCube and X-Box are all great consoles in there own ways and all have advantages and shortcomings over the other.

Been waiting for someone to agree with me for a few years now. :)

Because I dont have the same opinions as you, I dont have a valid opinion? I do believe the XBox has so much potential that they arent using whatsoever right now. I have not played one game that i can say I truly like on the XBox except Dead of Alive 3, which isnt worth buying a console over. My roommate has one and has lots of games, I have played them all. I dont like them. As i said in my previous post, Fable may change that. The game looks amazing, might even be worth buying an XBox for. Right now though, XBox sucks to me. There are other consoles with much better games out there as of now.

Just because you haven't played the good games doesn't mean XBox is a bad system. Time for Lasereth's Videogame Theorem: play the good games on a system and you'll like it. You obviously played a bunch of your roommate's shitty XBox games, but that doesn't mean the system sucks. It means you had a bad experience with it because you played the crappy games.

Like Deflok said, each console has advantages and disadvantages over each other, but one rule remains pure and simple: if you play bad games for a system, you won't like it. If you play good games for it, you'll love the system. I own all three systems right now (a GBA too) and consider each of them to be great. I also check reviews out before I buy games as well so I know I'm not paying for a waste of time and money. I think this leads to enjoying videogames as a whole much more and not hating any of the systems.

You need to play the good games on each system. Then you'll agree each system has its own advantages over the other. Play some good games on Xbox and it will change your opinion. Each system has good games, therefore no system is better than the other. It just depends on which type of games are your preference as to what console to purchase.

Or just purchase all three.

hmm, well my original comment was to say that the xbox deflecting the bullet more than likely had a lot to do with the angle. If he shot it dead on, then it would go straight through most likely, but from a standing position shooting something on the floor a couple of feet away, deflection is not TOO surprising granted the object being shot has a reasonably hard surface.

Secondly, when did this thread become a video game console debate thread? Start a new thread for that, it doesn't belong in this one.

Sorry to turn this into a console hating or whatever thread so this will be my last post in this thread, but i must say that i have played games that are supposedly the great games for the XBox such as Halo and Mechassault among others but I just dont like the games. I would love for the XBox to start making games I like because it is a very powerful machine that can do amazing things if pushed but most games right now dont entice me to want one. As said before, Fable will probably change that becuase that game made me cream my pants when i fist saw it. Oh and Ninja Gaiden. How can you go wrong with Ninja Gaiden?

Yes. The GameBoy is KING, no competition ever. You can't disagree with that, can you? It is the best selling console ever, recently selling around 100000 a day in the US, and it's made by Nintendo =) I like pointing that out to the people who oddly believe that Nintendo are suddenly gonna die =S

Can't disagree indeed. But wasn't Sony or Sega thinking about making their own handheld games like gameboy? I remember playing with Sega's handheld, it was so bulky compared to gameboy...

No way Nintendo are gonna die anytime soon. But with crappy GameCube games...you can never know...IMHO of course :D

Never really played an XBOX, but love those Clancy games and can't wait for the new one to come out on PS2 in a couple of months.

Well it seems natural that today's systems would have more bugs than older systems. It's just a matter of complexity. The fact that systems today can do exponentially more than older ones could means that they are going to have more bugs. But I'd rather deal with a bug or two and get better gaming, than be satisfied with a bug free 2-d scroll game.

I agree with you but they still rock though, Sonic 2+3+S&K are untouchable.

I disagree, Castlevania Symphony of the Night kicks the shit out of all the new 3D Castlevanias. Old School Platformers are so fun.

2d and 3d games are, to me, vastly different except for the occasional one that plays like Devil May Cry.

I don't understand any console hating at all. 99% of the time it has nothing to do with the console itself, but how the developers use what they're given. I can see licensee hating, but not console hating.

I also have all three consoles, and love them all equally. I seem to enjoy more Gamecube games than the other consoles, but I wouldn't give any of my systems away.

And now, to try and not threadjack... :) I agree with dover, ben. There's no way any of the consoles are bulletproof if shot head on. Chances are it was shot at an angle and the bullet just deflected, rattling something loose in the process.

That being said there are benefits to every console out there. My personal favorite is the Xbox, followed CLOSELY by the PS2. I don't have enough Cube experience to really rank it.
One point to make, I have a tough time keeping up with the new releases on Xbox as they have been plentiful lately. MS is finally getting up to speed and releasing LOADS of Live compatible games. I actually have about 8 games at home I have gotten in the last month, and haven't had time to focus on just one.

I know what that's like, just the other day I was reading a review for Uru and thought to myself "Damn, I should get this game... oh wait, I got it last week!".

I dont understand why people dont like a system just because of the company who makes it. I could care less which system I play as long as it has the games I like to play.

I dropped my PS1 (the mobile version) off of a car roof going at a good click (yeah yeah, I forgot that I put it on the roof of the car and it took a dive).. no damage, but I dont think it could take a bullet. They may have known that and thats why they made it such a small profile. The xbox might be able to take the bullet.. The PS1 can dodge it
