I found this site on fark and it is a cool simulation of ruleing your own country. There is no war, the only downside, but it is actually very fun.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Commerce, and Religion & Spirituality. The average income tax rate is 28%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Information Technology.

Crime is moderate. Brindisi Dorom's national animal is the black mamba, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the drake.
