The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
I just bought this game yesterday and I’ve logged about 4 hours on it so far. From first impressions this game is amazing. The camera can be a little bit of a hindrance at times, but other than that I have no real faults with this game. The wealth of abilities you have at the beginning of the game is great. So far the puzzles have required some thought, but not enough to make you quit the game in disgust.
The combat is fun and isn’t over done or under done IMO. My only real problem with the combat is the tendency to hit by one of the other creatures around you when your part way through the finishing motion on a creature that’s been knocked down. That brings me to my next point. Death, I love the fact that this game includes an ability to rewind time (think Blinx the Time Sweep Xbox ppl, but smoother). The Prince can rewind time up to 10 sec. That little rewind feature has saved me from more than a few deaths already. Being able to rewind when you see your going miss that long jump and travel back to the ledge before you jump is great. No reloading the level due to poor judgment. Lastly, the story telling is done in a great way without a lot of cutscenes once the game is actually started. That's a plus in my book anyday. I’d definitely say this would make an amazing rental, and for a platforming or PoP fan, this game is a great buy. Also, the PS2 version includes the original PoP as a bonus. The Xbox version includes PoP1 and PoP2. I have no clue about the Cube version.

Yeah, I'm definitely getting this game for PS2. I might get it for XBox or GC; they've all got superb reviews. It looks great!

Penny Arcade said it is great for all platforms for a change.
It and Jak II are going to be on my Christmas Want List.

And . . . Using the connectivity capabilities of the GameCube and Game Boy Advance, players can also unlock POP1 on the GameCube if they find all of the special switches in the Game Boy Advance version. Connectivity will immediately enable automatic health regeneration on the GameCube version . |

Blockbuster didn't have POP or castlevania LOI so I'm instead playing rebel strike and True Crime Streets of LA.
I've played the demo of POP but my controller's rewind button doesn't work half the time so i memorized almost all of them demo and played it until I could do it without rewinding What I've played is awesome and I've heard it doesn't look much better on Xbox so I'm going to get in playstation since that's what the demo was on.

Have you played Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem and Metroid Prime? Those are the two games that made me very happy about my Gamecube. Those are the two best games on the system if ya ask me! I'm glad that PoP got good reviews on all three systems. I'll probably get it for GC or XBox so I don't have to overload my PS2 with FFX-2, NFS Underground, Jak II, Ratchet and Clank, etc. -Lasereth
