Dark age of camelot THE only mmorpg worth playing that has an actual company that cares about its userbase.
it pretty much does everything better than the rest. Was very dissapointed with SWG but i saw it coming a mile away, too bad i was unable to save my friend from getting a 6months subscrition at luanch. he quit 2 weeks later |

Haven't been playing in a while though. Sigh, I just can't find the time anymore. Plus, all these voices in my head won't shut up!

I started playing MMORPGs a few weeks after Ultima Onlines release. It quickly turned out to be the most intense computergaming experience ever
Since then i have played a host of MMORPGs, right now i am sticking with DAoC, because i feel it has the best PvP/RvR. Dont get me started on SWG...i was in beta, and played a little after release. It is without a doubt the biggest MMORPG dissapointment so far.. |

Ultima Online in an orc clan on Catskills. We speak our own language...mostly just bullshitted English, but still...
Since I'm still a frequent pen and paper gamer and I'm used to extremely high quality, no electronic RPG can really hold my interest. Only the people I play with in UO keep me there.

With a background in MUDs, EQ was inevitable. I played it for quite a while and then Beta'd Anarchy Online. I sucked diseased goat balls, so I kille dmy account when they shut down beta. I then beta'd DAoC. It did not suck, played it for a bit after it went live. I stopped playing fairly soon though as it just did not hold my interest like EQ did.
Then EQ stopped holding my interest. Only thing I've played since is beta'ing Horizons on a friend's box. Neat looking, though I'm not sure it'll be buff enough to really make it. MMORPG's is a tough market to break into. In general, I'd rather do pen and paper, face to face. Online games have some advantages, but they're just nowhere near as fun for me. |

I play DAoC - on Gaheris. I only get the chance to play a couple hours a week though, so still have lots left to explore.
The only other one I'm interested in is WoW - if it releases this decade...

Xenomorph:
The orc clans in Ultima Online is great fun. Being a PnP roleplayer for many years i must say, i think UO has the best potential for roleplaying of any MMORPG out there. Regarding PnP roleplaying; i like it, but sometimes it is pure frustration. I have been in the same PnP group for close to 8 years. there has been a lot of people going in and out, and sometimes personalities clash in a bad way. I think i would prefer MMORPGs if i had to make the choice. Oh, i play on Lancelot, Albion.. |

I started with EQ, then quit, then picked it up again like a year later, then quit.
Then got UO, then quit like 2 weeks later cuz the game stuck me in the middle of a freakin ocean. and my character died while waiting on in-game help. Then when he arrived he said he couldnt give me any of my stuff back. and I said, see ya. then I played SWG for 2 months. not really a bad visual experience, but god the game is so boring. I quit. Planetside was next, I got tired of feeling like there was no progression for the overall team. I'd come back and it would be like everything I had done the night before did not matter. I quit that too, im hoping FFXI or WoW will do it for me, I just want something thats FUN |
