Crimson Skies
Just picked it up today, I had been waiting for weeks to play this.
It really is an awesome air shooter, essentially its like a FPS with planes, the controls are good but its not a simulator. The best part is the Xbox Live support, this is easily the best Xbox live game so far. Mechassault has been put on the shelf, here comes Dogfight, Team Dogfight and Catch the Chicken! All of the reviews have been good as well, if you have Xbox live I highly reccomend this title. Anyone else pick this up and wanna share some thoughts? The Chicago and Arixa maps are wicked! Eh, I'm not into "Twisted Metal" type games. I prefer a flight sim, rather than a arcadey type flying game. I might rent it and try it on Xbox Live, but I'm not going to buy it, unless it is really good. I'm waiting for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3, ESPN NBA Basketball, and maybe Counter-Strike.

I've been salavating for this bad boy for quite some time. I loved the PC version, despite its quirks and the near impossible nature of some of the missions, and this one looks like its more fun.

I've been playing the game for the last couple of days since it came out. My headset snapped in two so haven't played online yet. The single player part is fun but the autosave function pisses me off sometimes, especially since you can't go back and run through a mission again if you did badly but survived the first time.
I don't think it looks as good as the 3 year old computer game unless you count all the great CGI movies. All in all, I think it is slightly over-rated. I'd give it an 85%. I may change my mind once I get online with it. |

I'm currently on the mission to take out the huge tesla blimp that swallows up ships and uses huge saw blades to cut the other blimps up. I've been through it like ten times and failed. When the mission starts my plane is in the red and I can't seem to take the thing out. I think I'll try to jump on my home blimp and use the AA gun and see if that's the way to do it. I know you're supposed to take out the power cells on the front but by the time I get my plane lined up and fire I'm getting fried by the tesla fire.
Also, XBox Live has been taken over by obnoxious a-holes in most of the games anymore so if any of you guys want to play me live in this game send an invite. My gametag is the same as my name here - Dibbler |

Hey. I absolutely LOVE THIS GAME! My pop turned me on to it, we were trying it out at Toys R Us. I am just at the part where you get out of the lost city in the South American-y map.
Chicago map is damn fun!

I love this game. I played it non-stop for about a month. Then I picked up a couple new games and since I had Crimson beat, I been playing those. But for multiplayer, Crimson is better than HALO for my money. Then again, I was never all that high on HALO in the first place.

I played Crimson Skies a LONG time ago when it first came out for PC. It was fun as hell with the multiplayer (hell, and single player). The engine was very solid, that lead to a great ability to have awesome dog fights. The "capture the flag" mode was awesome too, you have to fly through airplane hangers to get the flag
I wouldn't compare it to Halo, they are two completely different games. I personally have always had more fun playing CTF Halo. I'm not a big fan of the deathmatch though.
