Warcraft III on lan
How can i play WCIII on lan on differnt ports? it won't show on the game list. but with CS you can just direct connect with the console. anyone knows a way to connect to a server on the lan but different port? thanks

I'm not sure how to answer your question, but some things that have givin me problems are
they dont have their game patched they dont have their own CD key/ have a pirated version that isn't properly cracked or patched |
you are missing the point. if they are in the same port, the game works fine but if they try to connect from a differnt port but same domain, it doesn't. i just want to know if there's a way to connect directly to a differnt port in the same domain on the LAN. plus neither pirated version nor CD key matter, we aren't playing on bnet. so anyone?

hmm
warcraft3 uses port 6112 and 6113 to connect to battle.net so if you are running a bnet server on a lan you should with some proper configuration be able to connect to it but judging from your posts i don't think this is the case here now for normal lan play warcraft simply connects through tcp-ip without ANY specification of ports you simply arrive into your private lobby on your machine. When someone creates a game on his machine, his machine will broadcast the game details to all pc's currently running wc3 with the same version and the game will appear in your private lobby. At this point you can connect At no point in the game can you specify what port warcraft needs to use as there is no direct-ip option in warcraft. i hope this answers your question. |
Are there any pieces of software that allow you to fool WCIII into playing a "LAN" game over the internet (connect by IP) without using bnet?

I used to use battlelan with some people i knew. i think you can also use hamachi, but since i don't have any experience with that program, i wouldn't be able to help you. |
