MAX PAYNE 2: Gone Freakin' GOLD!!!
 

I have nothing but praise for Max Payne (the PC version anyway, consoles kinda blew...) so when I saw the preview for Max payne 2 in the PC PowerPlay magazine I totally flipped.

I was disappointed with HL2 being delayed but MP2 will be more than enough to keep me happy. When I heard MP2 was to be released mid October I laughed "Ha! Since when did a big name game come out on it's initial projected release date!?"... well, I guess there's a first time for everything! And so, here we are, MP2 literally just around the corner because yes, it has gone GOLD!!!

I liked Max Payne on the PS2, but I loved it on computer. This one looks to be pretty good, I just hope my computer can handle it. Nice picture btw.

I never played the original but I plan on giving this one a try. Can't wait :)

the best of max payne was the nightmares he had ... those gave mt the creeps

Right now just looks like Max Payne 1 with more detailed graphics... which is pretty fucking cool in itself =)

I was a little diasppointed that they modeled Max after a different person in this game versus the first game. However, they kept the original voice talent on, so his endless muttering and story description will be the same. Yeah, gotta get my shopping cart filled up on NewEgg and get it to my house so I can play MP2!

this game is goin to be awesome, they've added a new type of bullet time where u move in real time, and everything else slows down(ala The One) which the MP1 modding community tried to do

And they've added the moddin tools aslwell, my thought for best thing bout MP1 was the many Mods and most of us are still waiting for Mods, A matrix mod has been in the works for a loooooong time now

Running down a hall in slow-mo only to have it stretch to 10 times its original length just pissed me off. ;)

Game looks great!

Can't wait to play it. It looks like it will have a killer story in it too, something I've been much desiring in a game lately.

Back on topic: Max Payne 2 looks sure to rock! I loved MP1 and I almost finished it on its 3 difficulty levels. I haven't been in tough with MP2 lately, which is good, or I would have been unproductive for months! Now it's just weeks :)

LOL! Dude, I did the exact same thing! I was seriously about to go for the "flame" button. "How the fuck could you ever say that about that piece of shit?!?! etc." Hehe... good one Mr.Deflok, really had me going there. :)

As sad as it seems, Max is 70% the reason I own a black leather coat know. Looks good on me though.

I didn't really think the first one was that good. i mean it looked good and had a decent plot but it got old just shooting bad guys over and over. i really didn't like those stupid comic book cutscenes

They have a few of those for MP1, and they all ROCK. My personal preference is for Matrixed Reality, which blends a straight Matrix mod with Max Payne Kung Fu Edition 3.0. The combination makes the game AWESOME.

Not like it wasn't before, but...y'know...

To put it in perspective, the mod for Max Payne is what Enter the Matrix SHOULD have been.

AHHHHH! Loved Max Payne 1. Enjoyed/hated what I came to refer to as the "crack dreams" added emotion to the game but still....messed up. Loved the place where you took like one step and the whole place set on fire.

Just went to site....how bad has gaming got when one of the "GAME FEATURES" includes "a storyline"...... =)

This game looks frickin' brilliant. Not only does it have the improved graphics and bullet time, but it also has a brandy-dandy new physics engine, complete with rag-doll anims. Translation: You shoot someone, the body reacts to the shots, said body slams into the wall and slumps to the ground. Just like a real body would do! And if that weren't enough.....DEFORMABLE TERRAIN! You get to blow holes in buildings! AND people! JOY!

And supposedly it's going to be even easier to mod than the first one, which means all the kick ass mods for MP1 will see a swift translation into MP2. This makes me happy.:love:

Thats the first time I have heard that MP2 will feature deformable terrain, destructable buildings, and a gore system alike SOF.

However, MP2 is looking damn nice indeed, and I pre ordered it about a week ago off EB Games, 1 day shipping and such :)
Looks like its shaping to be all that MP was, and a whole lot more.
Havok physics (same being used by HL2) should supply some awesome visuals and gameplay tactics...

i hope its s longer game than MP1 which i finished in 4 days

I spent ages on MP1, I re-did every level several time before moving on to the next just so that I could find the most effective route and vantage points and not have to use any painkillers whatsoever.

I'm looking forward to doing the same for MP2... all I need right now is money... Anyone need a Kidney? I've got a spare one, but it'll cost ya.
