Favorite Final Fantasy?

I went ahead and limited the options a little bit, if your favorite Final Fantasy isn't on the list just vote for your second favorite.(who the hell was going to vote FF1 for their favorite Final Fantasy?!). I included Final Fantasy Tactics on their too. I voted Final Fantasy 7 myself, I'm sure that the majority of people will do the same, it had the best story IMHO.

i'm giving my love to seven, because it rekindled my love for the series after having not played for years and years. it was the reason i bought my playstation in the first place, and will continue to hold a special place in my heart.

sure ff7 was good but i think X is just a little bit better, the characters are much deeper and the story line is awesome, dont get me wrong i think 7 was great but in perspective i think i enjoyed the whole X experience better. haha Xperience

It's a really hard decision between Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy Tactics. I went ahead and picked the one that has been my favorite for the longest, FF7.

FFIVj was a life changer. it is like how some read a book that changes their life and what not.

it had a very long story that never got redundant, the music still rules, the character skill system is my 2nd favorite.

you start as a black knight, who, if not the enbodiment of evil, are known for dark deeds who questions recent acts by the king. the king gives a chance of redemption, you do his quest. . . only to slaughter an entire village of innocents save one girl who you are hellbent on protecting.

and don't forget Kain....

all of the FFs have a deep relationship with me, except for 8 and X. X was great, but not very emotional. 8 was uh... well. ...... yeah.......

Final Fantasy 7.

Very fun game, the storyline is amazingly immersive and the characters have depth and draw certain affections. Then you have all the very well done mini-games to shake things up every now and then and you've got a winner.

FFT wins it for me. Man that game was heaven... then my PS2 broke. I bought my PS2 because my PSX stopped working. So I was fackered. Haven't had a chance to play it for around 2 or 3 years. God I miss it... Now I need a GBA for the new one.

I would have voted FF (FF1... it had no number back then) but you didn't allow it.

I have to go with Final Fantasy 3 American. FF2 would have won had it taken me longer than 20 hours to beat. FF3 took me 50. Though I did get everyone level 90+ hehe.

I'm going to go with VIII, I doubt that it is the best game of the bunch, but I liked it's characters, and I got suckered into the storyline.

Tactics. Very very tough choice between that, IV, and VII. I love em all.

I'm pretty surprised by the lack of votes for FF9. Everyone always says 8 sucks and its the worst but people seem to like 8 more then 9. Very interesting indeed...

i loved FF7 as it got me into the series.. and the materia system is great.. but FF9 was my favorite.. i couldn't tell you why.. i just had a lot of fun playing it.. i'm now playing the pre-psx installments and i like FF2 a lot as the story progresses quickly.. i have a 10 mo. old so it's hard for me to commit to a game that is slow in any regard..

what is your favorite music from the series? i like the FF7 overworld theme.. though one winged angel came a close second.. the FF "prelude" theme coming in third..

i hate to admit it.. but i got stuck in 8.. i need to look for a "white ship near an inlet (islet?) on the cetra continent" but i can't find it.. i don't know which one Cetra is and i've scoured the world 4-5 times.. if anyone remembers where it is and can give me directions i would be in their debt..

thanks ^^

I loved 9, thought it was actually the best of the playstation games, even more then 7 which doesn't hold up in retrospect. Though at the time...

I went for X...

I gotta go with 3. Everything on the Playstation in comparison welll it looks pretty...
I almost voted for 2 and I do love it but 3 just holds a special place in my heart as the last truely fantastic (save Tactics) Final Fantasy.
7 was good and, while graphically superior, the story wasnt bad it wasnt great. Sephiroth was cool but he was no Kefka.
Plus in FF3 you dont spend half the game waiting for the Summon animation to finish.
As far as 8, it was ok.
9 in my opinion sucked. I couldnt stand any of the characters (save Vivi) and couldnt get into the storyline. It remains to this day the only FF I've played and havent beat. I just didnt care. I find FF Mystic Quest more playable than this piece of shit.

Have just started to play 10 finally, so I dont have an opinion on it as of yet.

I have to go with two here because it was the one that really defined the console RPG. There have been some changes to the style but the main structure remains the same.

Started playing FF7 again recentely, Cloud, Red, and Tifa at 99. Hopefully gonna beat the weapons this time around....anyway
7 is great. 8 is lame. 9 wasn't bad. I just got 10 from one of my friends and have yet to play it.
But Tactics is the best.
Hands down.

3! I enjoyed the characters the most -- but I played the Japanese version (ie. FF6) so perhaps some of their character is lost in translation. I've played both versions of 2 and the english translation wasn't spectacular.

It's possible to beat FF3 while recovering only edgar and setzer in the world of ruin.

Final Fantasy was the best ever.
Second was number 4, 2 in the US.

I agree with you, FF2 defined the console rpg, but the Final Fantasy games since have built on that foundation and have become far better games.

Are those pictures of FFXII?

Right after I posted this I checked the properties of the pic and saw that it was FFXI. However, it doesn't look at all like anything I've seen of FFXI. It looks like a rip-off of LOTR:TT.
