how do i get a screenshot and save, from a game I'm playing on my PC?

In case it matters, the game is Homeworld.

press the Prt Scrn key(directly above your insert key), then open your favorite photo editing software (like psp) and paste.

Theres a program called Fraps, which as well as showing your framerate, also allows you to take screenshots and capture video:

Try print screen, I use that, but i have problems sometimes. I think that some programs can block it.

check to see if there is a button in game that does it.

For instance.. on Tribes2, you press print screen and it saves the screen in your Tribes2 directory. I think for D2 its F12.. and in another game I play its F8. No copy and pasting crap needed... as it saved it automatically for me. You know it works because the screen "pauses" for about one second as it saves the image ot the folder.

As for Homeworld, I do not have it, so I do not know if it has a special key to make screenies....

What about during cutscenes? Im trying to take screenshots of some of the cinematics for Warcraft 3.

Just try out fraps.

It works very well, and can also capture video.
