Controllers
Can you get a controller for the Gamecube that is basically a ps2 controller? or get a ps2 controller that is compatible?

I'm pretty sure there are adapters out there. I have two arcade style controllers built with ps2 controllers inside. I use adapters for my Dreamcast and an adapter for the ps2 to usb for my computer. The ps2 controller to usb adapter I bought from RadioShack. It works great. I just use XP to set the buttons for mame or other games in XP. The ps2 to Dreamcast adapter I picked up on ebay. Do a search on ebay for a ps2 to gamecube adapter.
Just wanna add this. If you want to build your own arcade style controllers. Browse the forums at http://www.arcadecontrols.com Very good web page on building your own arcade controllers or info on finding parts or adapters. |
i have the computer one as well. i think i remember something about a GC/PS2 adapter but the GC renders the dualshock/joystick part unusable...

tere is an adapter i saw on ebay that is a ps/2 and ps2 to gamecube adapter..
it was like 20 dollars.. try looking for that.. |
Yeah, I've got one like that- bought it from an electronics store that was going belly-up back when I was playing a lot of Smash Bros Melee. It works pretty well, and comes in real handy when you suddenly need more controllers. Also cheaper.:)

My bro bought an adapter last night that you can go from ps2 to GC or Xbox.. it didn't work. It would work for a few seconds and then say that the controller was unplugged.. it's a piece of shit. he's taking it back and buying a new controller..(which is what I said he should do in the first place)
Anyone else used these and had success or problems with them?? |
