A Tale in the Desert
Does anyone currently play this game?
www.atitd.com I just found it today and downloaded the game and started up a character. I was just looking for something to do for about 30 mins to pass time and it had a free trial so I decided to check it out. Well about 4 hours later I was hooked. Its an MMORPG like I havn't seen before. You are an Egyptian peasant who gains status by completing tasks and learning from 7 different schools. There are no levels only stats. The main difference I see in this than all other MMORPGs I have played is that the players shape the game visually as well as structuraly. You gather materials and construct everything from a stone blade to a Pyramid. For example you plant seeds then have to weed the bed and harvest the crop. Next rot the crop and process it. After processing weave the fibre on a loom. That is of course after you have constructed the loom and rake to process. Players can make Laws or suggestions for gameplay features. You start a petition have people sign it then it goes to an ingame vote for a week. Programmers then alter can alter the game and implement the new desired feature. Another difference is that the game ends which is unusual for an MMORPG. Once a major monument to all 7 Disciplines has been errected then the game will end. There will be a short break followed by a new beginning with new formulas, benefits etc. Very cool game and same price as most other MMORPGs. There is a 24 hour free trial period that does not require a credit card and the download is free so no reason you should not check it out.

I heard of the game before it was released and it got me interested.
Never got around to trying it though, so I might sometime soon. Some reviews were not to thrilling either, that may have held me back.
