Link VS Cloud At GameFAQs

There has been a 64 video-game character tournament that's been going on for the past two months, and now it's down to the Final Four: Link, Cloud, Sephiroth, and MegaMan.

Today, as the title shows, is Link VS Cloud. This will most likely be the match with the highest participation ever, with the current rate of it. I'd like for people to go there and vote Link, but I'm not here to dictate your vote; I'll be plenty cool if you just go to vote for either of them. I just felt like informing the public of a match like this.

Oh, and a quick briefing on the two through-out the tournament so far this year, in case they got rid of a character you like and you wish to avenge them...

Link, the hero in the "Legend of Zelda" series, defeated AiAi, Fox McCloud, Magus, and Samus Aran.
Cloud, the hero in "Final Fantasy 7", defeated CATS, Auron, Bowser, and Sonic.



So this can be interactive, who did YOU vote for if you voted?

I would say, Cloud. Just because his sword is larger then Link's body.

It'll be interesting to see the results as they're pretty close right now.

Oh, and by the way, Sephiroth is gonna tear through all of them.

How appropriate it will be, though, when the final round is Cloud vs. Sephiroth. ;) :lol: :D

Yeah, Sephiroth should beat MegaMan, but last year they faced off in the 3rd Round, and MM lost by just under 1,000 votes (987, I think). Now it's in the Final Four, and I have Sephiroth winning tomorrow, but I will be gathering friends like a mad-man to get the Blue Bomber to win. Afterall, not only is he my favorite character ever, Sephiroth beat Mario...that's a huge no-no in my book.

Link is the man, but Cloud is the better man. Cloud wins, and Sephiroth wins overall.

Nah, Link pwns all, but not the kid Link, the Link from SC II.

Cloud should win that easy. Especially if he's equiped Knights of the Round on the Ultima Weapon. :D

IMHO, comparing the Link from A Link to the Past on the SNES to Cloud, is like comparing the original Star Wars to Episode 1 or 2. Sure, Cloud has a cooler costume, a bigger sword, and that newfangled 3D thingamajig, but when I think Link, I think A Link To The Past, and thats a hands-down beat-down of whats new and "cool" by what is classic and revered.

I choose Link.

as much as i love link to the past having crushed it many times over between the 'tendo and my gba i gotta go cloud, and my final would be cloud vs megman :)

FF& did NOT blow in my opinion; I think very highly of it. However, while Cloud and Sephiroth are both good characters in a great game, I feel the same way about Link and MegaMan in most every game they've starred in.

I wish it would have been Cloud VS Sephiroth and Link VS MegaMan, then have the two face off in the Final Battle, heh. Oh well...Cloud has undoubtedly defeated Link now, unless God Himself comes from the heavens and changes it.



Oh, and I'm going to make a new thread for Sephiroth VS MegaMan, for those who're interested.

I think that most people associate Link with more "kiddy" type games and the Final Fantasy series as more adult type games. I havent played a zelda game in at least 5 years, which was high school....

Link won last time I think, but I voted for him. Cloud is cool, but Link is an embedded part of game culture at thsi point.

Cloud is definitely a footnote or paragraph, but not a chapter. :p

I didn't vote, but I would have voted Cloud. Link might be more of a classic character, but when it comes down to power and ability, Cloud would win. I base my opinions on who I think would win, not who I like the most. :(

Sephiroth Should get beaten by Megaman but the person that talked about the fanboys is correct, Megaman has way too much firepower for sephiroth to handle imo.

Didn't get a chance to vote, though I would have voted Link.

Who won the poll of Cloud v Link? Do they have an archive somewhere...

edit nvm found it, Cloud won by about 5000 votes. Out of 140k total votes though, thats pretty close competition.

Damn Cloud won. Now it's Sephiroth vs Mega Man could it be a FF7 battle.

Making me choose between Link AND Cloud just isnt fair.
