Trading the PS2 for Gamecube

Recently, I've been thinking about trading in my PS2 for a Gamecube (that felt redunant). Being online doesn't really matter to me and my laptop can play DVD's just fine so I figure a Gamecube would do me better. Anyways, if you are a Gamecube owner, what games would you recommend. The list of games that I'm thinking of are:

Metroid Prime
Legend of Zelda
Viewtiful Joe
Ikagua (sp?)
Mario Sunshine

Thanks

If you like more cartoonish, fun, less serious adventure type games, sure go for the gamecube... though unless you're really short on cash, I would just keep the PS2, you'll get less that a third of what you paid for it.

i was disappointed with mario sunshine. What I have:

capcom vs SNK 2 EO (best street fighter type game ever)
zelda: ocarina of time (dunno if you can find that, got it for pre-ordering)
zelda: wind waker (buy this duh)
mario sunshine (eh)
metroid prime (must own, played thru it 3 times)
mega man network transmission (decent, but short)
baldur's gate dark alliance (AWESOME action RPG)
warioworld (far better than mario sunshine)
super smash bros. melee (tons of fun if you have people to play with)
animal crossing (will take over your life)
knockout kings 2003 (fun if you have people to play with)
mario party 4 (fun if you have people to play with)
soul calibur 2 (totally AWESOME)

Resident Evil 0 is also very fun and not cartoonish at all. But besides that, i agree with getting all the games MrWynd said, except Mega Man, i was thoroughly dissapointed by it.

I have all three systems. Kinda been dissapointed with all of them. Computer has been chewing up most my time. But if you do trade. I would suggest you pick up Legends of Arcadia. (If you don't already have it for the Dreamcast.) Great Game.

Monkey Ball is a lot of fun, as is Smash Bros. Although both SB is not as much fun alone as it it multiplayer.

I played the hell out of Zelda WW. Ikaruga is great.

Soul Calibur 2 and F zero are apprently both very good

PN 03 might be worth a rent.

But I think this fall PS2 has a better lineup.

Multiplayer I would go with Monkey Ball.
Single Player Metroid Prime.

Trading a PS2 for GameCube? Why dont you just buy a Gamecube and keep your PS2, because I think you will regret getting rid of it.

Get Tiger Woods 03. A college must, it's fun with people or alone and it only cost $20.

Having owned both, I'd recommend you stay with the PS2.

Isn't the GameCube going to be less expensive soon, anyway?

I can't wait til the next Rogue Squadron game comes out.

Yeah, that game Eternal Darkness cracks me up with all it's cartoony and childish appeal! Sometimes I babysit other peoples kids and let them play that game, then we watch some R rated movies and porn!! Good times, good times.

I'd recommend Eternal Darkness. Sure it's a one shot, but it's pretty engrossing.

I did that very thing sold my ps2 and got Gamecube i do regret a little as some ps2 games only gta etc. Although Gamecube has some top titles. I too was dissapointed with Mario sunshine. Cart should make up for it though.
Only one thing here in Britain a few games for the Gamecube are being scrapped or not made for it. Few stores selling console off dirt cheap. Hope this isnt nearly the end already.

i wouldn't trade my Ps2 for a Gamecube. My Gamecube doesn't get much use, but when i do play it, its like, "Whoa." Trade in an X-Box, maybe, but PS2, no way.
