Advance Wars: Best thing since sliced bread?
 

Do yourself a favor. If you're not familiar with Advance Wars or it's sequel on the GBA, pick a copy of the game up. Don't on a GBA? Buy one, and find the game. If you have the game, dig it out and rediscover it's greatness. If you already play it all the time, more power to you.

Advance Wars is the best example of digital crack (in non MMORPG form) to come along in a LOOOOONG time. Deep gameplay, mosre replay value than virtually anything else, a long single player quest, lots of unlockables and secrets... wow. The game has it all!

Definitely a fun time. It's greate to see the classic game genres getting new life on the GBA.

My buddy has it and I played it for about 20 mins. It was pretty fun, but I definately have to play it more to see if it'd be worth getting. Which one is better and what are the differences between 1 and 2?

Which one is better is a matter of opinion, but the general concensus is that the 2nd is better. It's got a longer campaign, if nothing else. More variation in it as well.

I have 2... and holy crap!!! I can waste hours on the game without a problem. I once screwed around on a mission assuming I'd lose and endedup winning... that was like a 90 min game.. haha!

Enemy surrounded my HQ and then tried to take it over.. I successfully knocked him down to ONE guy.. and then took out every man then got near it (constantly was making new cannons.. as they kept getting destroyed). But Then I tried and since They couldn't take it over for about 15 more rounds... I got in and got theirs! :).. All their forces were at my main base.. I had a second that took out their ill-defended HQ.

I love the game, but I run a a very large AW fansite, so my opinion might be a little biased :)

i dunno, sliced bread is pretty great, but ya Advanced Wars is great. I havent gotten the second one yet but i can recall many many hours that that game has stolen from me

It only makes me wish that there was a link-cable enabled GBA emulator, because I can never find anyone to link-play against.

Single-player is a blast, but the multi must be unreal.

I just picked up AW2 today. Can't stop playing it, except to type this of course.

A friend and I have been playing a match for over a year now, as we seldom see each other when not on holiday. It's always a thrill trying to string together a risky strategy you envisioned weeks ago.

I've been looking to buy it for a while, just found it online at ebgames.com used with a 25% coupon. Was ordering a bunch of PS2 stuff and threw that in. Looking forward to trying it out!

Bought it and love it. Definitely killed about 3 hours tonight playing it....Fun times. I'm gonna sell a couple of my GBA games now, cause they're definitely going to gather dust in the wake of Advance Wars. Now I can't wait to find 2 somewhere....

I guess I'm not very good at these tactics type games...

I couldn't get past the fourth(...?) level of the game. Bleh.

Maybe I'll try again someday soon...

I love turn based strategy and RTS games (basically any kind of strategy game), but man... I get really depressed when I lose. And then, I don't play the game for a long time, because I'm in the "I suck at it, what's the point" phase. Advance Wars fits into that category.

Looks ALOT like Super Conflict. Can anyone confirm?

they are great and you will see that they almost stole all from there ;)
