press release fun
Came across a great press release for a action-rpg called The Roots (yes yes y'all) at RPGDot.
Caught this great snippet: "The game ... arena style turn-based, real time combat" I'm trying to grok this. Do they mean the game arena? Are they talking about MMORPG-style combat that involves individual turns, but they play out in real time? Or are they throwing all the buzzwords out to see which one gets complained about the most. Anyway, I laughed when I read it. |
I think this is an example of the fact that press releases rarely have anything to do with what a game or system looks like when it finally comes out.
|
PR Reps dunno what the hell they are talking about, generally. At E3 they all run around like chickens with their heads cut off.
|
Glad to see that others feel the same way.

I remember when I was at some small GBA developers booth the PR guy wouldn't leave me alone showing me this and this and this and shoving all this free stuff in my face. Then Craig Harris from IGN walked up and it was like I was invisible, lol.
