Super Mario Sunshine is underrated
When I got this game, I'll admit it. I was disappointed. Mainly because I was expecting another game like SM64, and SM64 changed my life. It was still very good though, and I played it a lot, but then that was it. A disappointment, overall.
But recently I was bored and sent back to give the game another try. For some reason, I liked it MUCH more the 2nd time around. I had fond memories of some of my favore levels, bosses, and void levels. I was humming along to music I didn't even realize had gotten inside my head. Now I love the game, although I still haven't (and probably won't) get all 120 shines. If you're like me and we're happy with SMS, I STRONGLY suggest you give it another try. You might be like me and discover it's a lot better than you thought. |

Mario Sunshine was fun. I loved the bonus levels, the music was so cool, kinda like retro Super Mario.

I always liked Mario Sunshine. The first time around my friends and I sat around and played it together. You know, some beer, a Saturday afternoon and lots of yelling.... Now I am playing it all over again by myself and I love it! And you guys are right... the music does get stuck in your head.....

truth is i never liked any games the came out for the N64 except for ogre battle 64. i love every game thats come out for the gamecube though. mario sunshin and zelda for the gamecube are true masterpiece's i think the N64 versions of those games did the fanchise and great disservice.

Guys, truth be told, I loved my N64...I'd take it over a PlayStation 2 or MAYBE an X-Box. It's GameCube > X-Box = Ninendo 64 > PlayStaion 2 for me.
Anyways though, Super Mario Sunshine is a great game if you don't compare it to Mario 64. If you do, you'll be easily disappointed...if you don't, you'll fall in love with it. I wish you'd get more of a reward for doing everything in the game, but ah well, it's still fun running through the bonus levels.

Oh yes, we all know that 3rd party support is all that matters, especially when a console has amazing 1st and 2nd party games.
Mario 64, Starfox 64, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Conker, Zelda, Majora's Mask, F-Zero.... that's just a small selection of the 1st and 2nd party N64 titles, all of which are AAA games and won garnered mucho praise from the press and general public alike. So let's see... there's 8. Right off the top of my head. 8 exclusive AAA titles. How many does the Xbox have? Halo obviously, Panzer Dragoon Orta, KOTOR... JSRF if it's your thing. There's 4. PS2 is a different story, but I'll take my N64 over the Xbox any day of the week. |

Perfect Dark
Conker's Bad Fur Day WWF No Mercy Mario Kart 64 Mario 64 Legend of Zelda: Ocarina (sp?) of Time Super Smash Brothers Starfox 64 Goldeneye Mario Tennis Right there's my 10, and one of 'em is a 3rd-party title too (No Mercy). I would proudly take a new N64 with any combination of four of those games before I'd accept a new PS2 with any games I wanted. In fact, the same with the X-Box, though I really look forward to Halo 2 and the future games Rare will have for it. Yes, I'm serious. (Oh, and madcow7sd...truth be told, I never saw what people liked about Majora's Mask *shrugs* Just wasn't my kinda thing)
