I was on the Madden forums the other day and there seems to be a rumor that Michael Vick's speed will be 99 for Madden 2004. Does anyone know if this is true? Because if it is, Madden is going on probation for a year. I hate that they overrate the players that are flashy and marketable but underrate the players who actually get the job done.

That's nothing. Last year poking around I found NCAA 2003 players who wouldn't let the PS2 simulate any games during the year. That's right. They were playing out a FULL NCAA division I schedule because "they didn't want any statistic in the game that wasn't theirs". Wow.

Whatever Vick's speed is in the game, after a few seasons in Franchise mode it will be 99 regardless.

The stats in Madden also reflect the previous season, Vick was awesome when scrambling last season, so thats why they would give him 99.

But whenever they give any player high stats, they are always stepping on toes, so go figure.

If Vick gets a 99 in speed I'm going to hurl. He's fast no doubt..and I know madden imbellishes a lot but come on! 99 on vick would make him unstoppable.

seriously...with 99 speed...every play with vick would be roll right or roll left...all receivers covered down field by secondary...vick burns lb's and runs for 30 yards everytime. just make sure if you play atlanta you have your safety(s) covering price and your cb's staying home in case vick wanders out of the pocket. unfair...but that's madden.

i'm not sure about a 99, but vick runs a 40 in some ridiculous time, like 4.1. the only reason he's not the best hb in the league is because you can't waste his arm.

that, and he is not half as durable as the worst starting rb in the league. he may be tough...but he is not rb tough. he is wearing a huge fucking bullseye this year and he is gonna have to pay for yards this year.

I doubt he'll have a 99 for speed, but somewhere in the 90's wouldn't suprise me at all. He is like the fastest man in the NFL, so it would make cense.

He should have a speed of 110, he is the best all-round quarterback in the league. If he would have had any recievers to throw the ball to last year, they would have been in the superbowl and not lost a shitty game to the eagles in the playoffs. And don't forget that het set a rushing record last year for the best average yards per run in a game for a quarterback in nfl histroy, so he definately deserves a 99. You'll see next year.

Thats gonna be just unfair. I remember playing people on Madden 2003 when we would both just pick Atlanta and have 300 yard rushing games plus 250 in the air when we just stacked 11 guys on the line. Maybe it was that none of us could play defense worth shit tho.

Until you can give your CB's and LB's assignments like "watch player X, if he starts to go this way or that way go after him instead of whatever you are doing" or somehow set up conditional defenses in Madden or NFL 2Kx it's always going to be unrealistic. You can always take control of a player and play him like that, but with guys like Faulk and Vick it might take more than one to bring them down.

Vick should have the fastest speed in the league no doubt, whether that should be 99 or not...who knows. What's the second fastest speed? Who has it?

IF he stays healthy, he'll have an incredible year. His coach was smart to have him play backup for Chandler his first year in the league instead of trying to go for the marquee. Chandler might have a glass body, but he's got some experience and it shows that Vick watched and learned in the way Vick plays now. They just need to build up their line some.
