I tried. I got bored flying around lost in space without the surly old man or the robot. I'd try again if it weren't for WoW.

I played for about 6 months, but couldn't get passed the repetitiveness. Once you can do Level 4 missions it's either find a group of people you trust to try wormhole space or pvp.. I wasn't particularly interested in either, and level 4 missions are awfully repetitive.

Been playing about nine months now. I love the concept of the game MUCH more than I enjoy the actual game, but the actual game is pretty damn fun, too. It's been a very pleasant diversion from WoW, and now I play both in about equal measure.
I'm a member of TEST alliance (the Dreddit/4chan/The Instance community alliance based out of the West), though my corp isn't from one of those core originating groups. We're about to get into some big trouble in Fount down south. Should be exciting. |

This is kinda a double post since no one else has posted since I did, but I think it's interesting that EVE tends to promote a much more insular posting environment than, say, WoW does. There are vanishingly few MMOs where "gear" (for lack of a better term) can be both lost permanently AND stolen and where players have such an impact on each others lives. I wonder if this thread hasn't been stifled by OPSEC less than people having opinions on it.
Either way, I'm really excited about the new portrait interface and I have high hopes for the incursion mechanic. I wonder how it might impact our invasion of Fountain. Hooray expansions! Even if they're not really big ones. |
