New system, new games to look forward to

Heya, first time i post in this part of forum,

So in about a month i'll be getting a new PC, just wanted to get your opinion on whether i should get Vista, or stick to XP. im think Vista 64 bit with 4 GB RAM. thoughts?

anyway, im looking forward to some of the many games i can play on this new rig. what Im looking forward to:

Fifa 09 (i actually already have it, but haven't really played it much)
Fallout 3
Grand Theft Auto 4
WoW WotLK
And Diablo 3, but i think thats a while away.

what you looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to Left 4 Dead for PC mainly. Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 are also on the list but they're so far off that there's no reason to even think about them. :(

Vista or XP should be fine, especially if you plan on getting 4 GB of ram. Just make sure your videocard and CPU are good also.

Something you should know about Vista though, if you get 4 gigs of ram, make sure you get the 64 bit version, as the 32 bit version (the normal one that almost everyone gets), only supports up to 3 gigs of ram.

won't the games still utilize all four gigs though?

He said in the OP that he was getting the 64-bit version....thought it was self explanatory?

As a note, SC2 is now MUCH earlier now that they're doing a trilogy. I had a very wide spread before, but I'd say christmas '09 at the latest by now.

I'm also looking forward to Left 4 Dead.

And with the way Valve has been talking about multi-core gaming and the revamping of the Source engine to make full use of it, I'm glad I went with the quad-core chip in my new machine.

Bring it on!

Nope

I'm sorry Las, you're correct lol. My message this morning was me in way too much of a rush and not reading it properly. My bad.

L4D is a survival game that is based around co-op play. It's basically multiplayer Resident Evil using the Source engine (an FPS of course). Valve is putting a huge amount of work into it so I'm hoping for the best. Watch some developer presentations on it...it sounds amazing. If your team is surviving well against the zombies then the zombies and the game get harder and harder and more action packed/scarier. If your team sucks then the game lets up, fewer zombies, but less action packed also. The lighting, mood, even the level of the game changes depending on how your team is playing.

I'm looking forward to Diablo 3, Diablo 3, Diablo 3, Diablo 3 and Alan Wake. :)
