I'm not bashing the PS3, I'm sure it'll come around. I loved the PS2 and absolutely hated the original X-box. However as the most expensive system, with few systems still out there, I was not impressed.
Graphics are equal to the 360, the controls are not game changing like the Wii, and there's only one decent unique game it is not worth it at the moment in my opinion. I was not impressed with Fall of Man. Yes, it was a fun game. Yes, it had a few unique weapons. However I naturally compare it to Gears of War for the 360 and it's not even close in my opinion. It's like comparing Wolfenstein 3D to Doom (for arguments sake lets say graphics are the same), the feel just was never there in FoM.

IMHO I would have to say that this is the worst next gen console to come out ever. I am a Nintendo freak but I also enjoy PS2 games, like Katamari and DDR, and Guitar Hero. But yeah the PS3 not only attempted to steal the Wii's idea, but did it so badly that they ended up with Kirby's Tilt n' Tumble being the only game that could utilize it. And Hal's Laboratory is owned by Nintendo lol. But yeah the PS3 sucks.

Fanboyism eh? So because I said I like Sony's other venture's but believe this to be a piece of crap? And I hate sports games, football especially so that doesn't appeal to me much, I just think that they could have done alot more with it. With the amount of processors they have running you would think they could allow you to go straight back to the menu without resetting, ok, the graphics look beautiful, but they really just should have kept the original controller, the new ones are heavier than original X-Box controllers. Anyways whatever. I thought that this thread was asking for our personal opinions, so I gave mine.

It's the same with every console launch - no third party publisher is going to risk substantial resources on an unproven platform. So stop bitching about it, start enjoying what -is- good (and every launch has had it's golden eggs; Halo, Twilight Princess, Resistance etc) and start looking forward to what's going to come. None of the sales have been abysmal, so expect strong titles on -all- consoles soon.

Man, the PS3 is just too expensive. I'm not criticizing Sony for that, I know why they made it so high end.. but for people like me, 600 plus whatever additional controllers and all the games...it's just too much.
I'm a huge fan of the MGS series, and I don't know how I'll survive not playing MGS4 when it comes out. But for now, it's just out of the question, I'm gonna milk the hell out of Zelda:TP, even though I already have 90+ hours of play. |

those banging on the price, there is an article on gamepro.com
http://gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=95609 Sony is already talking price cut for the system to help out the financial struggles of the company. Nothing like price cuts on a hot new system to get things rolling in the right direction.

the ps3 is not a piece of junk since it has the potential to be a really powerful console. the problem with the system is the price, it's too expensive for the regular people to get. also, it does not have a lot of games as of now. i myself was going to get one, but then they had a price increase for the canadian version and i opted for the 360 and will be waiting for the price drop.
