DS gamers?
Just curious, what is your favorite DS/GBA game out there right now? I'm looking for some new games and I'd like some opinions.
|
I only have 3 DS games but they're al very good ones. |I have Super Mario 64 DS, MArio Kart DS and Starfox Command. They're all very good games and i play them all the time. THe online multiplayer for Mario Kart is very fun. Star Fox command has online and its fun but Mario Kart still beats it.
THe replay value on star Fox Command is very good since it has like 7 endings with a big tree of levels/story to play through. I'm looking into getting Metroid Hunters, i hear its another good one. And it has online multiplayer too which should be fun. |
Metriod Hunters is awesome, especially multi-player.
|
Mario Kart is very nice on multi-player, so add another vote to that one. I also have Castlevania, the "New Super Mario", Mario 64, and Brain Age.
I really enjoyed Mario 64, but I also never finished it for the N64. the New Super Mario is nice but I don't think the replay value is very large, and after awhile it seems like you're just playing to get star coins. They're all good solid games, but I would say Mario Kart and Castlevania are my favorite. |
I'm having a lot of fun with Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Great action RPG and it's beautiful (for a handheld). It has decent replay value with the unlockable stuff too. It might be a bit hard to find though, I think they discontinued it.

I really like Brain Age, Meteos and tetris. I still quite enjoy pokemon for advanced, i cant wait for pearl and diamond to come out for the ds.
|
I agree witht he pokemon, i have pokemon emerald for advance to play on my DS. I do think it is a little easy but when you get to the finally pokemon league battles they are rather difficult. and i wasnt ablet o capture any of the legendary pokemon no matter how hard i tried. and i think you only get 1 shot to fight them. If you cant get a ball to stick and run out you're kinda screwed. unless there's some way to get them back that i dont know about.

my kid is playing Nintendogs. He loves it. Also the Rayman and Incredibles.
|
well...if you're into RPGs, Final Fantasy III is coming soon. Contact is also a good rpg. good wifi games i have are metroid and mario kart, though those have already been mentioned. Clubhouse games are very fun to play over wifi. Animal crossing is sorta like a micro MMO...though that's really stretching the genre/title a bit.
other game i have that i really like: phoenix wright, trauma center, Sonic Rush. that's all i got. |

Castlevania: DoS recently had a reprint release, so you may be able to find one.
|
I love Phoenix Wright. The dialogue/script is pretty funny.

If you like sim games try Harvest Moon DS. It's good times. and if you have Harvest Moon friends of mineral town for GBA you can interack with some of the chericters from that game.
I agree about the pokemon games. Those are some of the best RPGs I have played. But a warning for any of you thinking about getting the new pokemon rescue team game. it's nothing like the good GBA ones and I don't recomend it. I just can't whate till the Wii comes out and they make games that use the DS with the Wii like they did With FF CC on GC useing the GBA as a controller |
I've been playing Sudoku Gridmaster....alot recently. Easy way to kill 20-30 minutes playing a few puzzles :)
|
I am going to pick up FF III tomorrow
I am so stoked |
Kirby's Canvas Course is an interesting use of the touch screen. It's not that hard once you figure out the logistics of the levels and where to use what power when, but it's still kind of fun.
|
Has anyone played the new Final Fantasy that just came out today for the DS?
Also, what are other good turn based games that involve character leveling? |
Definitely Castlevania... if you own a DS you should definitely also own castlevania.
|
one more to possibly add to the list: i don't know if you're into platform games, but if you are, you should check out yoshi's island 2. the first one was released a while ago, back on the snes, and is considered (by the opinion of many) to be one of the greatest platform games ever made. the sequel scored a 9.1 score on gamespot, which is a really tough thing to do..

another plug for any Castlevania game, even if it is just one for the Advance, play it on the DS, won't look any better really, but a great game regardless.
I plug away on Nintendogs when bored, I also do Mario Kart online, throw in some Brain Age and that about does me right when I get bored. I really need to start looking into the new Pokemon titles coming out, I got down hardcore on Blue but have not kept up with the series since then. For you RPG'ers out there I highly recommend you STAY AWAY from Lunar Dragon Song, this game is F-ing horrible. You lose health if you run, you have to switch modes back and forth to either gain XP, or items from battles, you do not get both, you have to pick one or the other. |
