Half-Life 2 Mod question
So I've been hanging out with my friend alot the past few weeks, and he's been playing Half-Life 2 Deathmatch online with certain mods. Well I've been short on money, so I picked up the inexpensive Half-Life 2: Episode One for $10USD, which includes HL2: DM. Does anyone know if mods, obviouisly for the multiplayer modes, will work with the HL2: DM or if I need the full version HL2 to run?
I had a discussion with another friend about this, and we think it will work, since games like CounterStrike Source and Day of Defeat Source are basically first-party mods which don't require the full game to play.

you can always download one and give it a try, i'd suggest dystopia http://dystopia-game.com/ download and see if it works. i think you do need the full version of hl2, but you never know.

counter strike source and day of defeat source are not free to download you need to buy them as well. even though they are mods they are made by valve and they charge for them. even though the orginal counter strike and day of defeat were free for the first half life game.
