You're right, it deserved more celebration, maybe a cake. I like cake. But what's done is done, what's past is past. So let's plan ahead for the next big one ...I guess that would be 25,000. |

The Aaussie car guys are always talking about how certain relatively mundane mods (by most U.S. standards except CaliNazifornia) on their cars would get their cars impounded. I guess that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Regs in WA require a permit to install an aftermarket Camshaft, and a $1000 emissions test to boot.
you were closer in Vic...., but not actually in Vic

Are you rooting for any team (player) in particular, now that the 2011 NFL Playoffs are near-underway?

Of course I'm rooting for the Eagles, our home town football team. They didn't look very good in the last game against stupid old Dallas, but the game didn't count for anything anyway. I hope they can play the next game as well as some of their better past games. As far as a player, I haven't gotten to the "forget" part and may never, but I am all for the "forgive" part when a person seems to be making an effort at self-improvement and so far Michael Vick has my "forgive" still going for him...not to mention he's really showed off some of his strong quarterback skills in a few past games so I hope he can do that again in the playoffs.
I hope that wasn't a "too long" reply, but on that note, earlier this evening my younger son, 14.5 years old now, asked me to take him on one of his favored "ghetto rides" through Philly. He likes to cruise around in unfamiliar parts of town to see how those different parts of the city look. So tonight we took this loopy route: |

I'm not so sensitive or easily offended, and in fact, sometimes I am a butthead. I sense a palindrome coming up soon so whoever has a special appreciation for such things, be aware or be square.
---------- Post added at 04:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:51 PM ---------- By the way, isn't this cool?: Jan. 4, 2011 -- Seeing a partial solar eclipse is spectacular enough. But ace astrophotographer Thierry Legault found a way to make today's partial solar eclipse even more memorable. He traveled to Oman, and with split second timing, he captured a view that will be hard to forget. In a brief moment, with the moon blocking a section of the sun's disk, Legault opened his camera shutter for a mere 1/5000th of a second, capturing the International Space Station (ISS) as it transited the sun. I currently have about 8 or 9 "posts" (galleries, articles) queued for our STARS & Space topic, but I have not yet found the offhand twenty consecutive minutes to create the thread yet. I'll see if I can whip it up soon (rather than have it languish for half-a-year in my notes, much like my "Tilted Aquarium" idea).
(and maybe you meant ... 'dirty apes'? ... or: 'Wicked Applesplitters'?)

Jet, maybe if you know a witch she can tell you if you'll ever get to those threads or not.
I'm not sure but that might have to be a fortune telling witch. Be ready to pay the tax on her services, though: Romanian Bratara Buzea, 63, who was imprisoned for witchcraft under communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu's repressive regime, speaks during an interview with The Associated Press in Mogosoaia, Romania, Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011. Trouble is brewing for Romania's witches, whose toil is being taxed for the first time despite their threats of putting curses on the government. Also being taxed for the first time are fortune tellers, who probably saw this coming. (AP Photo/Vadim Ghirda) |
