I've always wondered why they call it red tape.
Why not orange or fuschia.

Tape is sticky, regardless;
sometimes it's double sided sticky tape.

Jetée 05-26-2009 06:38 PM

Who calls what red tape?

Businesses, right?

Governments are infamous, for creating miles of it.

'specially here in the U.S.

My logic professor was
One who paused quite a bit when questioned,
& "use your intution."

I thought it was funny.

I see those cars driving around here all the time. :( A contractor that came to our company for a few days had one. He was nice enough to ride me around at 100+MPH. One of the best days at this company. :D

Poppet means... my darling (King's English)

I just noticed geuinegirly's new user title; reminds me of my second favorite childhood blue friend.

Even that which eats such bugs for beakfast is scared out of his psychadelic-produced mind at the sight of such montrosities.

Species kermit, does not appear to be a venomous frog.

I have had my fill, of venom and tanglement.

Free.

Post script: I read your signature, everytime.

genuinegirly 05-28-2009 04:49 AM

Sometimes I just need to come here to relax. Kermit screaming is a delightful treat.

Jetée 05-28-2009 05:02 AM

ring: That's great, because change is a rolling on in.

genuinegirly: I read in an article a few years back (which is coincidentally, where my domain is, and where I spend most of time contemplating) that the original Edvard Munch "The Scream" oil canvas, which had previously been lost, presumed stolen, for the past set decade (5 or more decades | meaning) just re-appeared after years in some unassuming abode.

I should dig up the article when I find the time.

Ourcrazymodern? 05-28-2009 05:26 AM

I feel more than I care to
& only wonder at all the rest,
when I can get a little.

Better for you, bugs,
than their absence ever is;
you'd better eat them.

BadNick 05-29-2009 06:34 AM

Pliny the Elder noted about insects: "In no one of her works has Nature more fully displayed her exhaustless ingenuity."

Buddha would probably frown on eating bugs, not sure about cows. Insects have been very important as symbols in religions, whether in myths related to the creation of the world or the scarab serving as the most important religious symbol of ancient Egypt. Ahimsa, a core belief of Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism, is the principle of refraining from causing pain to any living creature. Some practitioners make great efforts to avoid even accidental injury to insects, such as wearing gauze masks, avoiding or limiting eating during seasons when insects are abundant, and straining water before drinking.

most jainists starve themselves to death when they reach true enlightenment. you can imagine why it's not so prevalent

^ a self-fulfilling prophecy

Since this is "the longest thread", have we had a healthy debate yet about string theory?

For your entertainment while you ponder this question, here's a picture symbolizing a 3D projection of a Calabi-Yau manifold...enjoy

I like miniature/blown-up juxtapositions a hell of whole lot.

Having a pony the size of my nightstand would be cute, but having it relatively near a horse the size of an H2 would most likely be the highlight of my year.

This tune was playing in my head last evening.

I like that beat & tune...very good for a githead, or even any musicians I'd say.
