MOAB, well I sure do like bacon!
otto, that's a very nice still. jewels, that Slinky reminds me of a gold plated Slinky I have on my desk. It's mounted in a fancy walnut base to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the invention; our patent attorney's (who are an old school patent firm in business since 1853) gave it to me since they obtained that patent for the inventor, Richard James and his wife, Betty who named it... Since its founding in 1853, the firm has obtained patents for many famous inventors. Included among them are Sharps in 1873 for his breech-loading rifle, Graf Zeppellin in 1899 for his blimp, and Woodland in 1952 for his product identification system (now widely known as the "bar code"). One of the firm's best known trademarks is SLINKYŽ which is the name given to the famous toy in 1946 by Betty M. James, wife of its Philadelphia inventor. More recently the firm also honored BadNick of TFP with a gold plated Slinky to honor his own renowned achievements in the world of Tilted Nonsense. gg, I've probably been on that curley ladder more than my kids! |

As long as you're not packing a peanut.

Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't...I usually do.
One morning last Spring I came out to go to work and noticed some movement near my garage door, which is right under a very large willow tree. So I looked closer and found three baby squirrels frantically trying to hide under a couple leaves and one trying to squeeze under my garage door, I'm sure they were terrified of me. I assume they were knocked out of their nest up in the willow tree by some BadGuy squirrel or hawk or whatever. I put on my leather garden gloves, picked them up, observed their total cuteness, and put them on top of my woodpile/compost heap; they were gone a little while later. This is not my pic, but they were just like this: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...l_squirrel.jpg I also know first hand that squirrels living on farms taste good, braised with mushrooms and onions, wild rice on the side. |
I had a squirrel buddy that I used to feed Honeycomb cereal to while sitting on my lap... until mom backed over him with the Corolla

hahaha!!

and tie millstones around their necks.
"Whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believed in me, it were better for him that millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea." Matthew 18:6 ...I'm sure Matt meant he or she, but he was mired in bibliotalk. |
I was born a bibliophile.

I have an idea, but I don't understand it.

The idea will come to you,
if you play hard to get. |
My belief exceeds
the nonsense we're fed and believes some more. (You're right about thinking at it sideways.) |
I should try upside down also...

Fecal Matters?...Commode Commandos?...Hidden Assets?...at least these municipal sanitation departments have a sense of humor about their work:
What happens after you flush? RI offers a new tour during the first annual Rhode Island Water Infrastructure Month. As part of the festivities, the Narragansett wastewater operators team "Fecal Matters" will compete in a national latrine-treating skills contest in Chicago against last year's champions, the Rocky Mountain "Commode Commandos". This October will mark the first annual celebration of "Rhode Island Water Infrastructure Month", a public outreach initiative that seeks to inform the public, elected officials, business leaders, and the media about the critical role that our water infrastructure plays in protecting public health and promoting economic prosperity here in Rhode Island. Key issues to be addressed during this month include: -The wide range of agencies, initiatives, and individuals who work to keep our water flowing as cost-effectively as possible -The success stories at the municipal and state levels that have helped protect public health and the environment -The role of government (state and local) in protecting and improving our water infrastructure resources and the strong coordination among agencies that exists here in Rhode Island -Current project needs and the critical funding gaps that exist for water infrastructure improvements |
