Wow, almost 12 hours for someone to post after me. We are beginning to lose steam guys, what's going on?!?!
|
Losing steam, are we? We need more steam engines!
|
|
I'm trying to post a song, but my connection needs more fuel. :(
|
One more post before I go to bed.
Nighty night. |
Nighty night, Eso...and all who are someplace it is night.
When we were in Ocean City MD for vaca about a week ago, this was a strange virtually useless pic I took of night over OCMD from the 12th floor of the Hilton: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ickjt2/004.jpg And to elongate my post again, these are pics I took of the back bay area at nearby Assateague: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ickjt2/001.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ickjt2/002.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ickjt2/003.jpg |
Marshy...
I found it Youtube... but seeqpod was my original intention. |
I've been on a couple rides on powerful steam locomotives...very cool experience.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...cs7/my3985.jpg I love this pic...reminds me of Max Max Thunderdome of Locomotives http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2.../bigboy484.jpg |
pollution!!
|
sans steam
|
You know, now that I think of it I don't think I've ever been on an actual train. Nope.
|
You canNOT catch me
since the first rabbit done died. ...but I'm slowing down... Not in the loving, maybe in its creation, I hate the squirrels. |
I'm not liking the rodents, but I have very fond loving memories of "squirrel" since my father called me mókus which in Hungarian means squirrel. I know they taste good, too, if they lived in rural farmlands where their diet is not garbage.
|
I may be out of steam for the day,
but my gumption level stays steady. Oh dang dang dang! My hour at the library has gone by so quickly again. No one is waiting for this computer, damn these conflarnit rules. It maketh no sense, okay ...I am done complaining now, it is a gorgeous day for a walk, I will see many interesting things on my walk home. I love you all, bye for now. |
My birthday dinner last night at Arigato was excellent. So was the Bacardi and Coke. Today I got a haircut and renewed my license, hah.
We're moving slooooooooooooooow. |

I would be so tempted to hide and come out after closing...I love libraries, I could be a librarian someday. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ryInterior.jpg |
The curvature of the earth prevents me from seeing how long this thread really is.
|
The longest thread ever and I haven't posted...........................I love libraries and steam trains.
|
Welcome! To the world of Congratulations!!!
wait... did you deserve it? |
One of my longest lasting and recurrent fantasies is to someday have a home
where 9 0f the 11 rooms are filled with books and I get to climb up those lovely wooden rolling ladders. The smell of books is the headiest perfume imaginable. I also love being a nomad, either by choice, or unforseen circumstance. I have moved 37 times since I was born, and I have not even left the U.S. I kinda miss Virginia, they have excellent trees, beaches, and many little peninsulas to explore. Happy Belated Birthday Eso! I am recalling a screen shot that Jetee put up a while ago that had many lovely spiritual essences about it.... ahh...the vagaries of memory, I find it both frustrating and amusing when trying to access an elusive one. Peace and Joy eveyone, oh, and fun mischief also! |
I went tubing down the Brandywine River yesterday with my two boys and one of their friends. It was a gorgeous sunny day, but not too hot...mid 80's and moderate humidity. Being in the water up on a tube was refreshing. We saw a lot of turtles, all sorts of birds, various kinds of fish since the river is quite clear and clean. Since the water level is not real high this time of year (except after a large storm) I chose the 2 hr. float vs. a longer one, especially since they told me it would take longer than usual since the current was slower....a couple times the boys acted like this was the longest tube ride ever in the history of the world, but I found it very relaxing. I got a hoot out of that...OK, I'm playing my own straight man since we ate late lunch at Hooters on the way home.
|
I'd like some Hooters... but more so the food found at Hooter's.
|
Sometimes when I get spaced out, I say "Wow, big MACS!!!"
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...s7/bigmacs.jpg |
Time for me to make soup.
I remember the raw oysters and hot wings being very good at Hooters. |

Start your steam engines!
1 c. milk 2 T. melted butter 2 eggs 1 c. flour 2 T sugar 2 t baking powder 1/4 t. salt mix the dry stuff, mix the wet stuff, combine, and make pancakes. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1307/...8c895be3_m.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/40/11...ffe05ccd73.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/140/3...12a4e508e8.jpg yeah, i was curious - but i wasn't hungry unfortunately. eating pancakes on a train just seems like a perfect fit. |
Back in 1982 as a youngster I worked a hot dog- pretzel cart in downtown San Francisco.
The name of the company was Stanley Steamers. The owner was originally from New York City. Those were the most excellent hot dogs and polish sausages I have ever had. That is when I learned to appreciate saurkraut and mustard. I would post some pics of trains if I could. Some of my fondest memories are of traveling from coast to coast of the U.S by train. I was fortunate enough to eat pancakes on the train as it followed the Mississippi river in Minnesota. My fellow passengers and I saw dozens of Bald Eagles that early magical morning. Happy weekend to all! |
"Boring eccentric"
must be oxymoronic if anything is. (I love you, ring!) |

|
I am ring's bitch.
Glad to see Eeeraq back in the fold and posting. More is merrier. ring says you should reproduce. |
In another Most Illustrious Thread here at TFP...and obviously I refer to the "Where in the World Am I?" thread, TullyMars made a fantastic "longest" revelation that I feel compelled to share with all you Longest Folks:
The Pangalanes is a chain of sweet water lakes and lagoons parallel to the coast of the Indian Ocean, separated by a narrow stretch of land. The lakes are connected by a man-made channel system that forms an inland waterway from Tamatave through to Farafangana, making it the longest canal in the world covering a distance of 600km. edit: as one of my most heart-felt gestures toward energy conservation, I just realized that I can make this a "3-fer" by using the word "Farafangana" above in the "sounds naught but isn't thread"! Damn, this is further strong proof that the universe is just so interconnected it blows our minds. |
5 percent you say?!?
gone by 2040? SHIT! RED-HEADS, TAKE UP ARMS. |
Before my unfounded "longest" rumor spreads too far, I'd like to submit this correction. I hereby attest to the fact that I did no personal research on this but I believe jorgelito because.
