Loveladies...a nice sounding name. One that makes me think twice, though it's very nice there too, is in Delaware where we'll be in a few weeks, at Little Assawoman Bay.

Charmingly and classily done my friend...truly.

I think this thread should be published someday soon.

This is an oddly classy classic thread, innit?

fucking weather network. rain?! it's so clear out there!! no clouds. no wind.

BadNick 06-25-2008 05:59 AM

I took the top off my fun-car and drove it to work today since it's gorgeous around here in the Philly area, clear and about 84F/29C.

ring 06-25-2008 07:49 AM

Much more rain in our forecast.

I'll need webbed feet.

BadNick 06-25-2008 09:04 AM

quack quack

...we have a mother duck living outside our office/factory, she laid a few eggs under a bush. Last week we noticed a large hawk is now also living nearby. So the other day during our lunchtime we see the hawk swoop down and grab the duck, I guess it was hawk lunchtime too, a struggle ensues, we run over and chase the hawk away and the duck seems no worse for wear...so far the hawk is leaving the duck alone but we fear for the littles ones that will be popping out soon. Yesterday as I drove down the driveway the hawk swooped right over my hood and tried to grab a small bird sitting on the ground but the birdy got away before the hawk was within a couple feet of it.

Peanut sauce drizzled on top of corn-on-the-cob, is delicious,
and so is Jethro Tull.

Bareback for OCM.

Heavy horses
By jethro tull

Iron-clad feather-feet pounding the dust
On octobers day, towards evening
Sweat embossed veins standing proud to the plough
Salt on a deep chest, seasoning
Last of the line at an honest days toil
Turning the deep sod under
Flint at the fetlock, chasing the bone
Flies at the nostrils plunder.

The suffolk, the clydesdale, the percheron vie
With the shire on his feathers floating
Hauling soft timber into the dusk
To bed on a warm straw coating.

Heavy horses, move the land under me
Behind the plough gliding --- slipping and sliding free
Now youre down to the few
And theres no work to do
The tractors on its way.

Let me find you a filly for your proud stallion seed
To keep the old line going.
And well stand you abreast at the back of the woods
Behind the young trees growing
To hide you from eyes that mock at your girth,
Youre eighteen hands at the shoulder

And one day when the oil barons have all dripped dry
And the nights are seen to draw colder
Theyll beg for your strength, your gentle power
Your noble grace and your bearing
And youll strain once again to the sound of the gulls
In the wake of the deep plough, sharing.

Standing like tanks on the brow of the hill
Up into the cold wind facing
In stiff battle harness, chained to the world
Against the low sun racing
Bring me a wheel of oaken wood
A rein of polished leather
A heavy horse and a tumbling sky
Brewing heavy weather.

Bring a song for the evening
Clean brass to flash the dawn
Across these acres glistening
Like dew on a carpet lawn
In these dark towns folk lie sleeping
As the heavy horses thunder by
To wake the dying city
With the living horsemans cry

At once the old hands quicken ---
Bring pick and wisp and curry comb ---
Thrill to the sound of all
The heavy horses coming home.

Iron-clad feather-feet pounding the dust
On octobers day, towards evening
Sweat embossed veins standing proud to the plough
Salt on a deep chest, seasoning
Bring me a wheel of oaken wood
A rein of polished leather
A heavy horse and a tumbling sky
Brewing heavy weather.

Heavy horses, move the land under me
Behind the plough gliding --- slipping and sliding free
Now youre down to the few
And theres no work to do

Vegemite

ring 06-25-2008 08:19 PM

I sing a great and glorious version of this song:

Camelot! Camelot!
In far off France I heard your call
Camelot! Camelot!
And here am I to give my all
I know in my soul what you expect of me
And all that and more I shall be
A knight of the Table Round should be invincible
Succeed where a less fantastic man would fail
Climb a wall no one else can climb
Cleave a dragon in record time
Swim a moat in a coat of heavy iron mail
No matter the pain he ought to be unwinceable
Impossible deeds should be his daily fare
But where in the world
Is there in the world
A man so extraordinaire

C'est moi! C'est moi!
I'm forced to admit
'Tis I, I humbly reply
That mortal who
These marvels can do
C'est moi, c'est moi, 'tis I
I've never lost
In battle or game
I'm simply the best by far
When swords are cross'd
'Tis always the same
One blow and au revoir
C'est moi! C'est moi!
So admir'bly fit
A French Prometheus unbound
And here I stand with valor untold
Exception'lly brave, amazingly bold
To serve at the Table Round

The soul of a knight should be a thing remarkable
His heart and his mind as pure as morning dew
With a will and a self-restraint
That's the envy of ev'ry saint
He could easily work a miracle or two
To love and desire he ought to be unsparkable
The ways of the flesh should offer no allure
But where in the world
Is there in the world
A man so untouch'd and pure

[spoken] C'est moi

C'est moi! C'est moi!
I blush to disclose, I'm far too noble to lie
That man in whom these qualities bloom
C'est moi, c'est moi, 'tis I

I've never stray'd from all I believe
I'm bless'd with an iron will
Had I been made the partner of Eve
We'd be in Eden still
C'est moi! C'est moi
The angels have chosen to fight their battles below
And here I stand as pure as a pray'r
Incredibly clean, with virtue to spare
The godliest man I know
C'est moi!

It's the questions.

ring 06-27-2008 09:01 AM

Here ya go Nick...this explains what it's made from.
I have never tried it but I do believe I shall.

I love my spirulina and soypowder mix...I might like this as well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegemite

BadNick 06-27-2008 10:18 AM

Thanks, ring. So from that I see that "Vegemite is made from leftover brewers' yeast extract, a by-product of beer manufacturing, and various vegetable and spice additives."

So if it's made from beer related ingredients, it must be good....talk about which:

I've never been a huge Jimmy Buffet fan but I find some of his musical efforts to be decent light entertainment...though overplaying anything will annoy me. So I was skeptical of him putting his name on all sorts of products, figuring it's just some marketing scheme to make money. But then after reading more about his commitment to the quality of products with his name, and then hearing a few good reports about his beer, at lunch today I had three of his beers called Landshark Lager. Pretty decent, very light tasting, and a cleaner taste than Corona. Will drink it again if I want a very light beer without ordering one of the designated light beers.
