aww, well tell OCM hi, and that we love him too.

Awwwww.

(Ha?)

BadNick 06-19-2008 07:26 AM

Tell OCM I love him, too, but I'd love him to keep his tongue out of my ear...or other places. Love you too, ring.

Is it just me, or do the Capital dubbyas look all wiggly.

SSJTWIZTA 06-19-2008 10:12 AM

Esoteric 06-19-2008 12:43 PM

However, now I do not. W

BadNick 06-19-2008 01:30 PM

I climbed to the top of that and was awe inspired even though I did not smoke or drink anything or take mescaline.

ring 06-19-2008 01:45 PM

I see something green growing on the roof.

BadNick 06-19-2008 01:56 PM

The Mayans were advanced in a lot of ways, so it doesn't surprise me that they were in the lead on green rooftop gardening, along with ritual human sacrifice.

Baraka_Guru 06-19-2008 02:13 PM

We do have ritual human sacrifice; we call it the public education system.

BadNick 06-19-2008 02:16 PM

B_G,
I understand what you're saying since both of my wives taught in public schools. But as I'm sure you'll agree, there are exceptions...like the public schools in my neighborhood are pretty damn good imo, and I only see them doing the human sacrifice thing once in a while...not too bad.

Ourcrazymodern? 06-20-2008 06:05 AM

Haiku rituals
and assorted strange notions
won't leave me alone.

Wow, you have a thing for teachers too?

There are exceptions, but even with the quality schools, there are still a number of sacrifices that must be made in the name of standardization and expectations....even in the best of schools.

Esoteric 06-20-2008 09:16 AM

Mmmm, tacos.

Not only were they both public school teachers, but they both had the same last name, though lucky for me they are not related to each other.

Otherwise, I think some of my female encounters are "haunted"...before I married my current, final, and all-time favorite wife, three women I dated in the few years previously all had the same exact birthday as my lovely dearest wife...Oct. 17  At least it makes it easy to remember since I have a problem with those things, due I'm sure to my faulty early education.

I'm sure what you say about "standardized" educational programs is true. I don't know what a better answer could be, other than individualized curriculums and that seems like an unmanageable way to educate a lot of people...unless they all go off and do it on their own, like home schooling type thing. You got any good ideas about this?

PS: I see you're from Toronto...one of my favorite cities. I have plenty of cousins who live there and spent most of my childhood summers there, often causing havoc in High Park to the extent that even the Royal Canadian Mounties had to come get us. One of my cousins was a teacher, then a principal, and is now a superintendent somewhere in a public school district around there.

Esoteric 06-20-2008 10:31 AM

I skipped school quite a bit the last semester of my senior year. >_>

I've also smoked a bowl in my Horticulture class, go figure.

ring 06-20-2008 11:01 AM

Where the hey has Jet gone to now.

come back Jet.

BadNick 06-20-2008 07:35 PM

Jetée hasn't posted since June 1st. Maybe he's on a vacation.

Esoteric 06-21-2008 05:30 AM

Maybe he got bored of us. :[

BadNick 06-21-2008 07:09 AM

I don't see how you can get bored with nonsense. After all, somebody important once said "Don't take life too seriously; you'll never get out of it alive".
And Liz Hurely, who I think, and know, is hotter than hell, once said "I would seriously question whether anybody is really foolish enough to really say what they mean. Sometimes I think that civilization as we know it would kind of break down if we all were completely honest".
And that inimitable Salvador Dali once said "It is not necessary for the public to know whether I am joking or whether I am serious, just as it is not necessary for me to know myself".
And that weird Greek guy, Plato, once said "No human thing is of serious importance".
And of course, other people said stuff, too. I rest my case.

ottopilot 06-21-2008 10:19 AM

I like nonsense.

ring 06-21-2008 11:44 AM

"Nobody Does It Better."

ring 06-21-2008 02:49 PM

"I know nothing..."

okay..I lied.

BadNick 06-21-2008 03:51 PM

oops, I got lost and ended up here. Where am I? Anybody in here?
