“When a vampire decided to become a poet, everyone said he went from bat to verse.” |
John was a salesman’s delight when it came to any kind of unusual gimmick. His wife Marsha had long ago given up trying to get him to change.
One day John came home with another one of his unusual purchases. It was a robot that John claimed was actually a lie detector. It was about 5:30 that afternoon when Tommy, their 11 year old son, returned home from school. Tommy was over 2 hours late. “Where have you been? Why are you over 2 hours late getting home?” asked John. “Several of us went to the library to work on an extra credit project,” said Tommy. The robot then walked around the table and slapped Tommy, knocking him completely out of his chair. “Son,” said John, “this robot is a lie detector, now tell us where you really were after school.” “We went to Bobby’s house and watched a movie.” said Tommy. “What did you watch?” asked Marsha. “The Ten Commandments.” answered Tommy. The robot went around to Tommy and once again slapped him, knocking him off his chair once more. With his lip quivering, Tommy got up, sat down and said, “I am sorry I lied. We really watched a tape called Sex Queen.” “I am ashamed of you son,” said John. “When I was your age, I never lied to my parents.” The robot then walked around to John and delivered a whack that nearly knocked him out of his chair. Marsha doubled over in laughter, almost in tears and said, “Boy, did you ever ask for that one! You can’t be too mad with Tommy. After all, he is your son!” With that the robot immediately walked around to Marsha and knocked her out of her chair. |

Will fritter the day away again, maybe I'll search for those missing 11 federal notes I misplaced. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/104/3...cd09b5946a.jpg |
Frittering, is way underrated.
I believe we all need a good dose of frittering now and then. I hope you find your notes. I have so many notes, of a different sort, all over the place. Quite the ticker tape parade it would make. |
For anyone and everyone, please don't let my baby die.

PS: since this is the longest thread I don't feel bad coming back and editing my own post to make it even longer and mentioning that you may or may not have noticed my new avatar ...actually this is the first and only avatar I've ever used here. And the purpose of it is ...as if an avatar needed a purpose... to remind me to think about how it would be to be a surfer bum when I retire....as I say that, well I didn't really "say" it I "posted" it...I have Beach Boys and Jan & Dean tunes ring-a-linging thru my head. Anybody have a long board for sale? |
Are you inviting us on a surfing safari with you?
|
1st bike ride was a success. I now know that I am completely out of bike shape.
i was struggling after 10min. well not really but i was needing water and i was sweating. this is bad. I plan to bike everyday to work so i can't get there all sweaty. oh well. hopefully by tomorrow, I'll be back to my normal self. :) |

I tried surfing a couple of times,
it is more difficult than I thought it would be. It certainly does appear to be most excellent fun. |
Body surfing is fun.
|
ring, being this is the longest thread, if you have a chance to try a long board you might find it more stable and easier to get up on it.
thanks for the entertainment, jewels. I just watched a bunch of those. I like that minimalist approach ...just a wave and a body. Which reminds me that my sometimes sore shoulder is from being dislocated after mother nature slammed me on the beach, abraided half my face and permanently damaged my shoulder. But she's so beautiful, all is forgiven. |
