Back in seventh grade, we would watch this big rotund bellied gray
spider spin her web every night. We named her 'Sweetums.'

We left the porch light on to attract moths. We would carefully catch one
and then carefully throw it into her web.

Btw, as a kid I also used to catch bugs and throw them into the spider web just to see the little spider run over and wrap it all up for a later snack. To maintain the tradition, I recently showed this to my boys and they are now doing it regularly ...I like most spiders but I don't like most pesky bugs around/in my house.
