I'd guess... a bridge in Toronto! haha
*has only really been in three cities in Canada* |
But which one?
|
Hint Cello: Have you read Michael Ondaatje's In The Skin Of The Lion? It figures prominantly.
|
This is the Prince Edward Viaduct. Viewed from the near the Don River?
http://collections.ic.gc.ca/civileng...tails.asp?id=5 OKAY, since i'm pretty sure that I am correct, I'll pony up the next photo (Caution... Danger... Neophyte posting here - I hope I can do it right) This is from my trip earlier this year: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...o_2000/MT1.jpg |
Wow I couldn't have come up with the proper name. I was going to say Danforth Ave.
|
It's also called the Bloor Street viaduct.
|

Well, it's not Sydney
|
Smythe Street in Saint John
If that picture didn't match up with Google Earth for Sydney and Moncton, then it must be Saint John. |
Bingo. Game On Feelgood.
It was taken on from the pedestrian overpass, going between the city hall and the mall. |
|
That's Calgary City Hall...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...52_28Apr05.jpg |
it's U of T. Near up near that Cafeteria...

On a happier note: welcome to the game Aberkok! |
Being in Kingston over the holidays means I go to my parents and my significant other goes to her parents. This also means she has the camera...d'oh!! Unless y'all are happy to wait until tomorrow to continue, why doesn't someone else go in my stead...
|
Quote:
game on Aberkok! um, this isn't part of the game, but I was at my sister's place for Boxing Day dinner today (north of Oshawa, small place called Burketon) and took some pics. The snow there is beautiful, and I wanted to share it with all of you, just because it looks so nice: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1..._2000/0028.jpg |
The Burketon/Port Perry/Blackstock area has some truly beautiful country. I'm quite partial to Nestleton myself. I'm actually hoping to move out that way at some point in the hopefully not-too-distant future.
|
O.K. I am home... drove from Kingston to Toronto, with Lucifer in the car up to Cobourg. He was great to talk to and meet! Here's my pic.
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c1...einCanada1.jpg |
The Annex?
|
The Danforth Music Hall ( or a view looking west along the street from there)? Next to Allen's?

ok, here goes again from my trip this last summer (this is easy, but the hard part will be which side is the pic taken on?): http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...00/MT_0195.jpg |
The Confederation Bridge from Cape Jourimain's side
|

The new park at the Brickworks. In the Don Valley.
|
That's correct... game on.
|
|
That has got to be Montreal...
I can't remember which church that was; I went on a tour and saw about a dozen old churches in about 3 hours. They all started to blend in together... Does that count? |
I know where that is!!!
That is the North East corner of Avenue Road and Bloor in Toronto... the opposite corner is the Royal Ontario Museum. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...day2003008.jpg |
Cherry Beach?
|
Nope... guess again.
|
No idea, but Cello's was a dead giveaway to anyone who walked to the Toronto TFP meeting
|
I'm going to guess that the beach is the Sunnyside beach you were talking about yesterday... though I can't see the beach house you mentioned...
|
Ashbridges Bay?
|
haven't got a clue but...........sweet freakin' shot Charley

Is that Union Station?

Is it underground? I'm thinking it's in the PATH system somewhere.
|
It is underground, but not the PATH

|
Game on...
|
Oh, goody! I've been looking for an excuse to post this shot. I took it about 10 years ago and scanned it in, just for this. :)
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...posts/1109.jpg |
I know but will let someone else answer.
|
CN Tower? But I believe that this is the view from the top of the observation deck, up to the Space Deck????
How did you get that? |
Quote:
I worked a few days doing maintenance (changing lenses, bulbs etc...) on the big search lights that illuminate the sides of the tower at night. One day I brought up a camera. I took a series of photos, so if you want to see more, just pm me, because I don't want to threadjack. OK, maybe a little threadjack. ;) http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...posts/1104.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...posts/1108.jpg (That's me at work!) |
That must have been an incredible job. what a view. was it windy on the edge?
OK: here is my next one (it's a bit artsy): http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...0/d704f221.jpg |
Nice shot!
Nathan Phillips Square looking South East. Fresnelly... what a cool job! I was thinking it must have had something to do with lights. Did you have saftey lines and how strong was the urge to jump? |

Thanks! that was the start of the Run for the Cure last September. I like the effect... Your picture is the Ceiling of the Rotunda at the Museum (ROM).. here's one from last summer: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...0/1bc2e130.jpg |
Quote:
The first day we were tip toeing around carefully, but by the last day, the novelty had worn off and we just went about our business. It was never that windy, because they wouldn't let us up there if the weather was bad. Interestingly, it would be windy on one side, but not the others. Also, you couldn't hear the traffic at all. One day a big Army transport plane buzzed the tower, and on another we could see a storm front moving in (at our level) so we got the hell out of there. The underground complex was also pretty cool; kind of like being in the Death Star :) OK two last pics: (Note the undeveloped rail lands to the west) http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...posts/1103.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...posts/1110.jpg |
...and Exhibition Stadium is still standing, it doesn't look like the Convention Centre has been built yet and I think the Haida is still at the Quay.
I love this sort of thing. That area has seen so many changes in the past few years (sadly not all of it for the best). |
Leto: Is that somewhere along the Niagara River?
|
not there, wrong 'Falls'. It is east of Toronto, on hwy 35... that hint should 'lock' it up.
|
Fenelon Falls?
|
Quote:
Is that at the ROM? |

Quote:
Game on! um, ya and it was a bit cropped (sorry) |
My brother lives in Lindsay (just south of Fenelon Falls) and my Dad used to live just East of Sunderland (just south of Manilla in a little place called Cresswell). We used to go to the falls when I was a kid and go swimming.
This might be a bit too local but I am sure someone will get it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...49_07Aug05.jpg |
hmmm... trying to look at the reflection in the door/window...
a stumper. |
I'm pretty sure that's out front of the Beaches Branch Library on Queen St. E. The owl statue is just as cool as the big ones on the Lillian H. Smith Branch on College.
|
game on fresnelly...
|
|
I could be wrong but that looks like the Tug Boat race in Sault Ste. Marie... I think one of those boats might be my cousin's.
|
And you guys out east are wondering why us Westerners feel neglected and unloved?
I haven't been able to get one of those places yet. Yes, I realize it is a big country. |

You beautiful, beautiful man.
I love you. That picture is a shot of the Broadway bridge in Sunny Saskatoon. Taken from the picturesque east bank. |
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...uilding010.jpg
And lets get a little bit specific here folks... I want the ROOM that this is in, not just the place. (feeling malicious here) |
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c5...4/DSCF0008.jpg
Wow, thanks to Charlattan for teaching me how to post a photo. Here's a reverse view of a very famous Canadian landmark that I took a couple of years ago whilst working there. |
