Any 2 superpowers
 

If you could have any 2 powers:
1) what would they be
2) Why did you choose them &
3) What would you do with them.

1) Personally, i would take Shapeshifting and Possession.
2) With possession, i would be effectivly immortal, since i could just jump into a new body once i got too old, and then shift into a new shape so know one would know the old me has died. (Then of course i would have to dispose of my old body.)
3) I could become the ultimate spy/assassin, or just become a business tycoon. If i could capture the memories/abilities of the people i possess, i would empty thier bank accounts into an offshore account in order to support myself (Or just get rich.) Then i could spy on my competitors and steal all of thier ideas! And patent them first! It would be great!

I'd be happy with figuring out my girlfriend. I'd say that trumps talking with fish & breathing underwater any day.

With telepathy, i'd just read the minds of women and figure them out.

Telekinesis... well... no one wants to fuck with someone who can drop a house on them without moving. :lol:

Immortality... Or, better, eternal youthful vigor.
I'm tempted to take "low expectations" so that I could enjoy it fully, but I'll go with Sorcery as a second superpower - that's broad enough to be useful. It could be one of any number of systems, but preferably one that involves naming the effect and having it happen within some sort of reasonable limit.

Super Healing (provides long life as an added bonus).
Invisibility (all kinds of mischief possibilities)

I like the idea of a kin yang power, like the poewr to heal and the power to hurt, that way you are able to remain in balance. For me, I'd like the power of mind and the power of body.

Mind power would be a vast improvement of congnitive functions, memory, computation, problem solving, etc.

Body power would be superhuman strength, speed, agility, and grace (in a masculine way, of course).

I'd want to be rich(try telling batman it's not a superpower... thats what I thought) and be attractive to the point where nobody can deny me of anything.

First one is easy. Teleportation. Why? Because I'm lazy and it would be awesome just to be able to leave my place a few seconds before I need to be somewhere.
Second one is a bit tougher. The 12 year old boy in me wants to say X-ray vision :lol: *Edit* changed my mind. I want The Voice that Jesse Custer has in Preacher. Basically when you use it people have to do what you say. Think about it, someone annoying you? Tell them to shut up and they do. A million and one uses :)

1 - Telepathy and/or immortality

2 - I've always wondered just what people are thinking. Especially when someone cuts me off on the freeway or says something that comes off as especially harsh.

3 - I'd work to understand the human thought process better. Then I'd live multiple lives in multiple centuries doing multiple careers. Work to give myself the full experience of life without getting finicky about dying - ie try to develop a method of flying.

Jedi mind control and I wanna fly! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I would want the two GURPS stand-bys:

Super-human strength

and Super-Healing (aka Wolverine)

I once created a Superhero in GURPS that was totally balanced. I had dozens of superpowers, but they didn't cost many points because they came with inherent flaws...

I could fly, but since I was afraid of clouds I could not fly very high.
I could breathe under water, but only salt water.
I could talk to animals, but they didn't like me very much and thought I was submissive, thus I had a 50/50 chance they would attack me if I tried.
I had superhuman healing, but very brittle bones, so crush damage took 5 times as long to heal, basically taking me out of the fight.

The list went on and on, but the funny thing was that in every situation, I had the superpower to deal with something, but I would undoubtedly cause some Jerry-Lewis-like comedy of errors in the process that I just ended up retiring the character.

I would take that flying power. As long as you can fly, you don't need to fly very high. Once you're above the clouds, you can't see the ground so you don't get the whole being way up there feeling.

I also always wanted to be invisible, or be able to stop time for small increments. There was a bad TV movie in the early 80's with Pam Dawber where she had a watch that stopped time for 60 second increments. As long as she held the watch, she could walk around while everybody else was frozen and unaware.

I would use that power to be more of a super villain.

I think that would be a cool fucking show, looking at a villain that could stop time.

WishTransport - I don't want to fly because that'd be really cold and it would take a while, plus if you were carrying anything -it'd be a bitch.. what if you dropped something... So WishTransport is my super power - -I close my eyes and I wish that I was someplace else... and it would automatically be trasported there, with whatever Ihappened to have in my hand at the time.

Learning by osmosis... I would be able to learn anything, from music, to quantum physics, to all the trivia in the world, just by putting the book under my pillow

I'd just wanna be able to drink alot of beer without having to squirt every four minutes......

Telepathy first, the full package. Then Teleportation as in Heinlein's Number of the Beast (visit imaginary worlds using technology).

I'd go with Telekinesis like Jean Gray, the ability to fly, read minds, and move shit, yeah I could get into all sorts of trouble with that. For number two.......... I'd go with a Wolverine type of healing ability, much longer life span to cause trouble with. :D

The ability to cause an orgasm in anyone, anywhere, anytime, without having to touch them. That, and teleportation, I hate having to rely on a car, and I could do sooooo much more if travel time wasn't taken into account.

Invulnerability and an unlimited wallet.

I just wanna be loved. :(

Basically, I'd like to be like Nightcrawler of the X-Men without the blue skin, tail and religious fetish.

I was just struck by a thought while reading D A Porter's Modern Bard's Tale.

How about being a super-husband, able to attract, delight, love and satisfy a dozen or a hundred wives, without jealousy or in-fighting? Forget leaping a tall building in a single bound - this is a truly improbable feat. And can you imagine if they were all superheroines, each unique and powerful in her own right?

It's super-team meets sex-fantasy.

I can't imagine keeping up with all those super-kids though. You'd have to have a secondary power of being Super Dad.

With those two, I think you could make your success in anything you did.

Hell, I'd even be able to retrieve my lighters from those theiving bastards pockets!

Invisibility and Flying

I'd say...
1) Teleportation: I could go anywhere I want quickly. Plus, I could visit a lot of my friends that live far away and save a ton of money. Who wouldn't want that power?

2) The ability to speak and understand every language: if I'm going to be traveling I need to be able to communicate in any language.

1) Undetectable telepathic coercion (as in Julian May's Saga of the exiles)
2) Redaction (healing etc) also from the same source.

I believe that with the ability to read/influence another's thoughts, and heal the body and mind where needed, I would be able to live a long and comfortable life, and heve people like and respect me - and do my bidding.

If I wanted to I could influence bad people to be good, and find the truth in people's own minds - I could b a hell of a doctor, councellor, lawyer, lover or criminal.

Or just get my dream job, have everyone love me and never have to lift a finger :lol:

And second power would be to have total control of my mind. By that I mean being able to unlock any memory whenever I want to, meditate like a pro, bypass regular brain filters that only let you focus on few things at a time, etc...

I would argue that China does not yet posses the mobility of power to be regarded as a superpower. Following, of course, the beautifully concise definition given by William T. R. Fox to describe a superpower.
