54M eh?

Any of you lucky 17 Camrose oil workers visit the TFP? If so, maybe we should have a party in your honor!

Yeah, splitting a pot that big is kind of a letdown though.

I was hoping the whole thing would have gone to some young single guy, with a head on his shoulders...

Wait. Do those guys exist?

54 million dollars. It defies comprehension.

You could go to Vegas, put 10 million on Black, LOSE, and still have 44 MILLION DOLLARS.

It just floors me.

I liked how when the cameras were on the people in the kitchen, one guy was chugging a beer. I predict he will be a wino in 18 months.

Good for them, that is alot of dough. We can dream what it would be like.....I would only upgrade my house, and maybe a new car every year. Everything else would get put away for my kid.
I would just love to win one of huge powerball lottos like in the states for 300 million. Imagine that, I'd buy myself an NHL team and become a player/owner. Put myself on the 4th line, would be effing awesome! I could handle it too. (not)

It's good that it got split between so many people. What they got 3 or 4 million each? That's great.

4 million. christ. I'd just put it in a CD @ 5% and live off my 200k a year.

wow just imagine never having to work again....

200 k/year
40% average tax
------
120 k/year

Inflation at 2.2%. On 4 m:
88 k/year

120 k/year - 88 k/year = 32 k/year

4 m in a 5% CD with 40% average tax and 2.2% inflation gives you 32 k/year inflation-protected post-tax income.

Don't be such a downer... can't a man have a dream?

I kept thinking what is that company going to do when 17 people don't show up for work...

/shrug. Note my anniniuty was designed to be indefinate, not "for your life".

Second, 32 k/year tax-free, at a 30% average tax rate, is a 46000$/year salary. Admittedly this doesn't include any health benefits etc -- on the other hand, you do have a 4 m $ in real-value assets ready for emergencies.

Lets just say for my sake that there would be a lot of government payoffs for me.
