On the money honey.
Ves next. |
So The Logans (boring bastards) took the bucks (well, $836,000 less tax of 47% = $392920 = net winning of $443080 / 2 = $221540 each...not bad for 100 days of work).
I was pretty disappointed with the final result....I really wanted Timmy to win and reckon he deserved to. He had the experience more of a journey in terms of personal growth, development and achievement, and was a hell of a lot funnier than the Logans! http://img343.imageshack.us/img343/1...8react25fl.jpg |
Agreed Ella... I want to go and slit my wrists *sigh*
|
wow.
i for one never thought tim would get passed the early stages... and he's a mate (my brother was on his home video that they showed the last three housemates). but he sure did take off with popularity when some of the more abrasive housemates left. i didn't really think australia (or the big brother voting demographic therein) would take to his humour. totally bummed that the boring logan won though. shoulda been tim. however, i don't doubt tim will earn more than the prize money he lost, in book sales and opportunities garnered from his pseudo-celebrity status. here's a little bit of trivia for you... tim actually went through the entire selection process pretending to be someone else (or imagining he was someone else and saying what he thought that person would say), but when he was told he was selected, he reverted back into tim status. seriously funny guy. |

What sort of person did he pretend to be? I would hope that he didn't play like a regular dumb person :hmm: |
spindles, you're right about game show contestants, but as far as i'm aware, the housemates are not considered game show contestants since they receive a weekly appearance fee. they also have to appear at big brother events after the show (or after they are evicted).
therefore, since they are kind of 'employed' by the big brother group (endemol i think), the final housemates winnings are taxed to the hilt. i remember there being some stink about the first series winner only receiving about half of the winnings after his tax was deducted (remember that the prize money used to be $250,000). and i also remember that smirky bastard eddie maguire promoting his show by announcing that the winners on millionaire aren't taxed like *some other shows*. |
You're dead right, bundy. Since the housemates make more than one appearance (as they do on Millionaire) they are considered employees of Endemol. Bummer, hey!!

I don't mind ol BB, can get boring at times but let's face it, there isn't a hell of alot of other things on TV at times. I didn't like Vesna at first due to the constant whinging but after a while she grew on me and I wouldn't of minded her winning.. I didn't mind who won actually as long as it wasn't Tim.
|
Funny that...Tim was the only one I wanted to win!
So who thinks that new reality cooking show that took BB's place is really, really crap? |
I miss BB.... I thought I would hate the show but ended up warming to a couple of HMs. Definitely not Rita (ugh), definitely not Mel or Christie... I did like Tim and well, gotta admit it, Dean was nice to look at but I'm sure he had a Freudian obsession with sh*t.

Any excuse for a gratuitous Dean shot....

Fully agree about the cooking show.. hasn't it been axed now ? LOL GOD it's so damn hard to find something good on tv these days :\
|
Too true, zanda. I hate the Raymond show with a passion....bring back Seinfeld re-runs!
