Guide for going out all nights of the week.
Does anyone know of a place on the net that tels you the happening places to go out in a city for all the different nights of the week? Not just a where the happy hours are guide. I'm specifically thinking of Sydney right now since I'm new here, especially odd nights of the week like tues/wed.
If not perhaps we should start a guide here. Here are the weekday haunts I've been to recently: Adeliade Tuesday: The Ed. Sydney Monday: Scubar Melbourne Sunday: Geebung/Depot/Star Bar triple Tuesday: Hawthorn/Glenferrie double Perth Monday: The Deen PLEASE ADD TO THE LIST!! |

Mainly from a student/resi point of view....
Geelong: Monday: ? (Maybe the Grovey?) Tuesday: The Nash (trivia night) Wednesday: The Ponds (student/resi night) Thursday: Brit/Eureka (anywhere in town, it's student night) Friday: The Max (after work crew) Saturday: Chiefs/Eureka (sat night out in town) Sunday: Lambys ("the" sunday night spot) I, personally, hate the Eureka. I spend many of my drinking nights at the Max (as long as it's not Monday night, they're closed then). Last edited by Latch; 03-08-2005 at 03:13 AM.. |

Hmm, I can't really say as I only used to go out on friday/saturday night in Melbourne. Mainly then it was the corner, the empress, the green room, & the greyhound. Ie, band venues.
As far as newcastle goes, the cambridge is the only good place to go these days. |

Used to go to the Geebung whenever I could on a Sunday, but went to the Belgium Beer Club last time... close to the best pub ever.

In Melbourne I always loved the Lounge (Swanston St) as a kickstart to a Saturday night. Get in there just before 10pm to avoid the cover charge, have a few drinks there and chill out before a huge night.
And on Fridays I remember Embassy (behind the 7-11 on the corner of Swanston/Lonsdale) was always a great place to go, especially in winter. |
