Budget 2005
Being the least educated and eloquent of the TFP Canada board trollers, I feel I'm the obvious choice to Hijack the whole forum and ramrod you into the inevitable flamewar that we shall call......
BUDGET 2005 - Dude, where's my minority government? What you folks think. Hell, its not even on TV yet and the leaks have begun.

Tax cuts: Thanks for nothing. Bad old Mr Dithers. (How's that for eloquence?) At least the province may give us a bit of a break from this oppression. Waiting to hear on debt repayment...

Anyone want to give me some info about what happened?
Am abroad, and well, it's a but of a pain sometimes to get good specific info. found this though, and am wondering about it: Eliminating the corporate surtax in 2008 and reducing the corporate income tax rate by 2 percentage points by 2010 to maintain Canada's tax rate advantage over the U.S. What the? our tax rate advantage? |

http://www.ctv.ca/mini_v2/budget2005/ There's two pages with some analysis for you. I have to say, there's no new exciting ideas on this one. National Childcare seems to have taken a back seat, which isn't surprising, but environmental reform seems to have been bumped up the priority list.

Here's a link to the highlights of the CBC coverage, I guess the budget was alright, nothing shocking, I mean the Liberals have to be careful and try to keep people happy, so I guess it should come as no surprise.
