I have had Granville Island beer many times. Unfortunately the Beer Store doesn't sell it in Ontario. At least I haven't seen it. Maybe the LCBO might have some.
Last summer I was in Vancouver, and went to Granville Island, to enjoy the market, the waterpark and the shops & buskers. I also bought a Granvill Island Commemorative brew t-shirt... the Gastown Amber ale is soooo goood! Their site: http://www.gib.ca/ |

Granville Island charges for their tour? Last time I went it was free (samples too).
I doubt the sell it in Banff, but they do sell an awful lot of good beers there. There are so many craft breweries nowadays that it's hard to pick which one is the best. The beer I like may not be the one you like, so it's best to try them all

Switched from Keith's to Lakeport Honey Lager. Exactly a year ago. Saved $1000 dollars easy by paying $15 bucks less a case. And for a thousand bucks a year, the taste ain't that different.
Places? Radium Hot Springs in B.C. Met the coolest chick there. Drumheller Alberta. Dinosaurs and stuff. Cypress Hills in southern Saskatchewan. St. Catherines Sreet in 1980's Montreal. Brackley Beach, PEI.

33rd Question.
Best Canadian team rivalry in any major league (NHL, CFL, MLB, etc)? I'll have to say...Edmonton Eskimos vs Calgary Stampeders or Hamilton TiCats vs Toronto Argos

No one suggested a date on that rivalry... we could be talking about the Leafs from the 60s...

Leafs/Habs, or the Habs and the Nordiques from the 80's some of the most intense game I've watched. I don't really watch the CFL so I can't say anything about them. The Leafs and the Sens could have a good rivalry if the Sens ever make it out of the first round. Oh the joys of being a Leafs fan in Ottawa, I just love wearing out my leafs stuff the people here hate it.

We got in on Friday night and saw the Manitoba Moose play- great game- great team. On Saturday we went to the mint, which was closed. Then we went to the zoo, which was pretty lame. Sorry, but I live mere miles from one of the greatest zoos in this country, so it takes a lot to impress me. From there we went to the French Quarters, which turned out to be one building. After that, we headed off to the Forks, which had no outdoor activities whatsoever, since apparently April in Winnipeg is not any closer to spring. We shopped at the market. We went to Osbourne village- most everything was closed. We were bored and went to see a movie. We left early the next day. Don't think I will ever go back to Winnipeg. The traffic is AWFUL! At least we have turning lanes down here. So anyway- explain the sandwich boards. |

That's about what I would expect from Winnipeg... sorry I can't answer you on the signage... the last time I was in Winterpeg was in 1981.

where do you live? what is the zoo near you? We have an amazing zoo here in Toronto, and I've been to San Diego's and the one in Columbia (SC) which are both comparable. when you say sandwhich boards, I visualize those things that people wear over their shoulders to advertize while walking on sidewalks. I've never seen them looking like what you describe. But I have seen menu boards in restuarants/pubs that are black and they use flourescent crayons to write on it. It looks brighter than a chalk board, and have been around for a couple of decades. But I've never seen anybody wear one as a sandwhich board... |

In answer to your rivalry question, I think the Leafs/Habs rivalry has lost some of its lustre and has been replaced with the Leafs/Senators rivalry, which is quite intense, especially if you live in Ottawa, because they were and are so sour for losing to my beloved Buds 4 times in the playoffs, baby!!! Maybe that's just an Ontario thing, though.
I don't think there are many others, to be honest... Maybe a CFL one, which I wouldn't know because I don't watch CFL much.
