Anyone ever been sued before?
My ex-boss is suing me for damages. Funny - because he owes me a substantial amount of money. Had our first day in court yesterday - hopefully this gets sorted out this week.
I'll let you all know once this is done - can't really talk details at the moment. So - anybody else been sued? |
Nope. The closest we came was the Small Claims Tribunal over the return of a bond for a rental property. We won.
Good luck! |

Hope it goes well for you spindles. Keep us updated on the outcome. If they try to take you down and lock you away ill bust you out of the joint. |
In the process of suing a real estate agent in Wagga as we paid 6 months of rent whilst not actually being in the house. Nothing big tho.
|
I'll keep you guys posted - don't want to say too much now - they are taking images of my hard drive middle of next week, so don't want to say anything to prejudice myself...

Images of your HD.. have fun explaining TFP in court.
"Do you, sir, believe this 'slimshaydee' is a real metro?" |
How you going spindles? Need me to bust you out yet? *Balaclava on standby.

Back to court tomorrow (Wednesday). This is quite unusual, as court basically finished up for Christmas last Friday - if this ends up going much further, our barrister reckons this might be a 3 to 4 month case - I shudder to think about the legal costs that will be racked up.
Latch - thankfully, only the relevant stuff on the computer will be discussed - so slimshaydee is safe from cross examination. almostaugust - I'm being sued for damages - unlikely to end up behind bars (even if I was guilty of something...) - thanks for the offer. |
I've been sued a few times. It's not all that uncommon in my line of work ;)
|
hmmm.. I'm not sure how it works in Oz.. but do you have to pay court costs if you lose? Cause that would suck. And if you have to sell stuff to cover the money, don't sell the computer/cancel your inet connection, cause that would suck too :)
|
If you accuse someone (as has been done in this case) and you are not successful, then you have to pay the legal costs of the respondents. This stops people bringing frivilous lawsuits - it makes a bloody lot of sense to me.

I see.. well.. good luck (as everyone's said ;) ).
