Feelin' Groovy, anybody from the Sunshine Coast?
I've only visited Gibson's. It's very nice, what's it like to live there and work in Vancouver?
I can't imagine it. Cursed ferries! Maybe when they buld a bridge.
guinnessgurl is from the sunshine coast if my memory serves me right
I did a bit of commuting between Gibsons and Burnaby a few years ago. The 40-minute ferry ride was ok, but the waiting for the boat sucked. If you walk on rather than drive on you'll save heaps of time. The best part of the whole trip was the crib games while on the boat.
Just like any other form of commuting, you get used to it. |
i'm considering it for the new year. I may get transfered back to BC. but I like the coast, and the idea of the ferry ride.

If you don't mind living in a tiny town, having to take the ferry to work every day, and being assaulted from all angles by the filthy hippies that reside there, then it's the place for you. I like visiting, but by no means would I want to live there.
the hippies are funny
but you're right, i don't think i could take roberts crk types 24/7. I've spent some time on Keat Island, but not Bowen. Also sailed to the little popham (sp?) islands... |
Robert's Creek types? Au contraire. Robert's Creek is one of the fastest growing communities in BC and per capita income is skyrocketing. Even our illustrious Premier has a home there.
So roberts crk is turning into the next Pender Harbour?
Bigger and better, I think.
Gibsons, isn't that were 'ole Relic and Nick and Jesse live?
It must be fun driving around in your boats, gathering logs all day long. |

If you go down the steps just to the left of Molly's there is a blue house overlooking the marina. that's my ex boyfriend's place.
I was in Sechelt on the weekend. Great coffee shop!
which coffee shop? I like the Just Us coffe shop in Gibson's.
I think it's called the Daily Roast. They moved from one corner to the other on the main intersection of town. It was a good idea as I bet they increased their business by 50%. Good coffee and great cinnamon rolls (tho' they are skimping on the icing of late). It is amazing considering how slow the economy is up there that people still have money for a $3 coffee.
Where was "Just us"? |
Just Us is on the main road in Gibson's. Just across the parking lot from London? drugs or Peoples Drugs, and across the street from the restaurant strip. They roast their own there too. But you can get cheaper than $3.
