Beer ... what's your brew?
From coast to coast I beleive that Canada has some of the finest brew around. What's your brand? Do you remember the day it went from the icky tasting drink you drank to be cool to the refreshing taste sensation that it is?
Some of my personal favs are: Molson Canadian (when I want to drink a bunch) Keiths (Love the taste, find it a little heavy to drink all night) Moosehead (First beer I ordered under age in a bar, it was "My beer" for a long time. |
Labatt Blue mostly
But there is this great Honey Lager at Earls that i really liked last time i was there, its a house beer. |
I guess you could say im not a beer enthusiest yet. I mainly just drink molsons.
|
being Nova Scotian I think it's wrong to not be a Keith's drinker.... all night long
|
being nova scotian... I hate keiths..but it was the first bar I was ever in..
Ummm, now a days I usually have some Corona in the fridge, maybe some Kokanee once in a while..Coors is what I used to drink a lot of..that or Blue. |
Not being Nove Scotian and never being there, I don't know why my beer of choice is Alexander Keith's. But it is.
|
La Fin du Monde..
One of Canadas finest from the "Other" province.. |
Stella Artois, as i am british and it is such a fine brew!
|
whatevers on special that night  lol
pretty much wathevers already been mentioned is what i drink  (except for the french and british ones..lol) |
Domestic beer = Keith's
Import = Tiger or Tusker |
depends, been liking wild rose brewery's beer right now (based out here in Calgary)
Other than that I almost always drink Big Rock... can you easterners even get Big Rock? imports? I'm kinda partial to Qingdao outta china:) |
Gotta love that keith's. Best beer for a sit down and a steak.
|
Keiths. I'm from the west coast, too.
|
alot of keiths fans out here? hehe
my fridge is stocked full of heineken at the moment.. but i hafta admit keiths is among my favorites.. sometimes i like to sit down to a few kokanees with my NFL sunday though :) |
Usually Sleemans, either Honey Brown, Steam or Premium Light
|
for Canadian beer I'm a fan of Sleemans. Thier new Amber Ale is awsome.
Favourite overall though would be Stella Artois. Top notch. |
My favorite ever is Whistler Mother's Pale Ale, if I'm out and about though I'll get Sleeman's Honey Brown or Cream Ale.
|
Anything but O'Douls
|
Québec has some really fine brews, such as La Maudite.
|
I'm not a big beer drinker. My fave is Baileys on the rocks.
Wine'll work too, a nice chardonnay or reisling. |
Granville Island Brewery!
|
Granville Island Brewery is the best, i have a fridge full of it
|
The Granville Island Maple Lager is unbelievable (it's new.). But my favourite brews are the Wild Rose brews. I'm partial to the Brown, but they brew the house beer at The Kilkenny pub in Calgary called 'Double Arrow' and it's excellent too.
As for Quebequois beers, the Blanche de Chamblis is the best of the Unibroue bunch, followed closely by Trois Pistoles. Canadian microbrews are brilliant. |
domestic -Keith's
import - Guinness! |
any one of these..........and i don't mind the girl's light in there either.

I'll take the top shelf on the door to start and one of the sleemans on the bottom there to help with the dry mouth.
Nice shot Fly. |
Granville Island Brewery!
lmao yar.. i need to try the stuff still.. al, when we gonna go! blahhhhh |
Sleeman's Pale Ale, Sleeman's Honey Brown, Molson Export.

sounds like a plan.........just save a bit of the smoke for me eh!!!! gonna grab a guinney i think. |
Took me a while to figure out what that was..for a couple minutes I was thinking "why would he have a bag of broccoli mixed in with alcohol in a minifridge??"
then common sense hit me |
Being from Montreal, I naturally favor Quebec microbreweries, such as Unibroue.
1) Blanche de Chamblis 2) Trois Pistoles 3) La Maudite 4) La Fin du Monde |
my current fave Creemore Springs ...
|
mine would be Guiness.
But, I also like Keith's, Rickards Red, and Corona |
I'll drink anything and im not joking. But if I'm buying I used to go for molsons but now that they've merged with coors ill never drink it again (filthy fucking traders). ya bill buy keiths or moosehead (both great). Nothing beats finding some one who brews there own guiness, I found this guy whos been brewing his own "guiness" for like 30years and man that stuff is almost better then what youd get in ireland.
|
I drink alot of Granville Island brews, plus Kokanee and some McEwan's Scotch Ale.
|
along with keiths i love a good guiness as well. dark beer really sits well in my stomach.
|
If I am anywhere other than here (SE United States) I drink Fat Tire, Ft Collins, Colorado. At home, my beer of choice is New Castle or something similar. So long as it's English and brown, then I'm liking it.

We can get Big Rock (well, Trad, Warthog, Grasshopper and a couple others) at some specialty stores, but this gem of the west is largely unknown (and would otherwise be unappreciated) in the land o'Keiths. :P |
Whatever is in the fridge. Seriously I like to support a local brewery called Troegs in Harrisburg, PA and buy that whenever I can.
|
Keith's is the best...then Blue...then I go for imports.
