Don't stand behind an Airbus...
...when it's about to take off.

LOL makes you wander how often it happens
|
bloody hell... :p
|
Very interesting. Guess I will watch where I drive around the airport.
|
bahahahaha. That is hilarious.
|
Interesting; they weren't able to reproduce that on Mythbusters. I wonder what the difference was.
|
They must have been running the engines at full speed or something, and just had the plane anchored down. I don't think a jet engine at idle could do that
|
looks so extreme it almost looks fake

Done on BBC's Top Gear too
Its not fake... The Mythbusters used pathetic puny little jet engines... In this clip you see a definite answer to the question if it is possible to blow a car out of the way with a jet.
On BBC's Top Gear, a couple weeks ago, they took 2 cars, one some sort of Ford, the other a Citroen 2CV. They drove them behind a 747 which had 2 engines at full power... both cars were completely blown away, they tumbled and were smashed to bits, much like you see in this video. There are bittorrent downloads available for this show of the 18th of July. Just Google it. :D [edit] typo in the title |
lol that's outstanding

Ask Billy Bob Thornton and John Cusack if it's real or not...

I love the preschool teacher voice the guy uses to tell us that "jet blast is powerful". It's just so beautifully understated.
|
yeah, don't stand behind a Boeing either ;)
if you want proof of how powerful the engines on a 747 are, stand behind a Cessna when it starts to taxi. Now extrapolate the comparitivlely puny power of the Cessna, which just forced you to turn around and take a step to keep your balance, compared to the power of 4 747 engines, which can have nearly 60,000 pounds of thrust EACH, and picture what will happen. I once saw a (fortunately empty) baggage train get shot across the tarmac by a 737 engine. Wouldn't wanna be behind a 747 ;) |
hehehe you said "60,000 pounds of thrust".
well, i am blown away too. |
